N54 AC Bypass

I'm looking at removing the compressor from my N54. I found a DIY for an E90 but it was an N52 rather than an N54. The N52 accessory set-up look a lot different than the N54. I can't find a DIY for the N54.

There is a "kit" you can buy from Hard but the mark-up is unbelievable. I should be able to purchase a pulley and belt for ~$30 if I know what size they are. $100 for $30 of parts doesn't seem like a good deal.

Has anybody seen a DIY post for this or know the part numbers required?

It looks like you can just bypass the compressor easily by making the belt shorter. It will not change the load direction on the tensioner, and does not change the wrap angle on any of the accessories, which is good.

Find out how short the belt needs to be via routing diagrams, and see if ContiTech (OE Supplier) makes the same belt in the shorter length. They probably do. You can probably send them an email as well to see if they have a shorter belt.

Edit: Just looked up the HARD Motorsport kit. $99 for a simple, easy kit with no headache seems worth it IMO.

With this belt you also bypassed a pully right? Because I bought it and it will not fit unless I bypass 1 pully as well.

Correct. Looking at the front of the motor, the belt winds around the right side of the Alternator pulley, to the left of the pulley directly below, and then down to the right side of the PS pump pulley, then across the bottom to the crankshaft.
The lower most idler pulley is left out of the party.
