Thanks mate.

I finally figured it all out - its only taken all day.... lol

But at least that matches what i got and works....

Thank you very much as i was pretty well tossing the towel in!!!

Have a great long weekend if your able.

I do wonder about its authenticity tho it doesn't have several streets in it from 2017 let alone 2018...

Regards,

Matt

With the 1B.hex you supplied i generate the same FSC code as you did. Upon looking at your 1B file it doesnt look like having the correct data for you car. Hex editor reveals your VIN as 1234567 which is not correct, so your problem is witht he 1B file. How did you generate the 1B file, was it with the persistency file? Sometimes grabbing the persistency file via FTP from CIC can generate multiple 1B hex instances, you need to grab the 319 bytes 1B.hex from the line instance that includes your correct VIN.

If you have no idea, pm me your generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTController and ill take a look.

Thanks superdraw.

I obtained the 1B file from the USB method using the copie_scr.sh. I checked the 1B file and it was 319 bytes. Can the 1b file be edited with my VIN?

No you can't just edit the hex. I've noticed it with a few cars that the CIC files contain multiple fake instances of the 1B hex, this means a generic 1B hex grabber like you used just grabs the first instance it sees, not necessarily the correct one. The few times I've seen it I've manually grabbed the correct 1B that contains the VIN and then it works.

While I can't confirm this, all occasions ive seen has been on CIC versions Nov 2009+.

Try a different file grabber method, or if you manage to get the file I mentioned above I can grab your 1B from that.

Hi, hoping someone can help me please.

I've pulled the 1b.hex file using the USB script method, but can't seem to generate the FSC code, keep getting errors in the generator programs.

1b.hex file attached.

Cheers!

CIC High with a build date prior to 03/2010 requires a firmware update.

Use the ENET via OBD method and manually cut-out the VIN_generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTController file.

Damn, so no way to get the USB method working, any way to apply the firmware update?

I've got an INPA- OBD cable that I used for coding years ago, will that do? A link to instructions would be much appreciated!

Thanks

EDIT: Done a little more reading, while under warranty my cic may actually have been updated as I complained about a bug. Is there a way to check what firmware/ what's required? I've also previously updated my maps via usb using a paid fsc website.

Follow the method described in this thread to obtain the 1B file via the OBD with ENET.
ENET cables are available cheaply on eBay or borrow a cable.

If you cannot obtain an ENET cable then you can still obtain the 1B file using D-CAN cable and Dr Gini B014.

Navigation data is incomplete or manipulated

I downloaded 4.4 GB folder from the link was shared (and also from a torrent though another reference). But When I tried to install it on my car (first from the USB and then by a DVD) the following massage appeared on the screen and it didn't proceed.

“Navigation data is incomplete or manipulated. Please have the system checked by Service.”

I tried again by deleting the first two rows of the config file. The same message and the same result. Searched on internet hours and hours in three languages about the reasons but could find nothing. Have you faced with such an issue? Any idea about solving the problem?
I think my car's current map is not a Premium.
The photo of the idrive screen can be found on
Also, worths to tell that it's the first time trying to update the navigation map.
Cheers

Hi Superdaws! My cable finally came and I have the file you mentioned to grab, are you able to grab my 1B please?

Edit: I managed to find the correct instance that contains the VIN and generated the correct code. Cheers.

Need some help please guys, I'm at my wits end!

Have gone to the effort of getting the ENET cable, and successfully FTPd in and got the required generalpersistencydata file (attached). But just can't work out how to get my 1b hex file from that, the hex values in my file don't match the required as per the instructions, and I can't generate an fsc code.

If anyone could generate the code from that file, would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Upgrading Maps issues!

Hi Guys, Wondering if someone would be able to give me a hand with upgrading my maps on my 03/2010 E90.My current version is Premium 2011,(142101.2.13). I have downloaded the 2018 maps from the contained link and have been able to pull the 1b file from my car by inserting a formatted USB in the glove box. I have used another keygen to obtain a code, but it does not work with this map download. Do I have to unzip the map file and copy all to the USB or just copy to the USB as is? Also what size USB do I need for the maps. I know it all has to be formatted in Fat32. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. The previous code generated by the other keygen was (DDGMBNTPEADHOABQAA5A). PS. The map download was 3.15g is that correct also?
