Hey guys,

so the back side of the skirt of my car got bent bad.
I was wondering if you guys know an independent contractor that can help me without taking an arm and leg?

You could try to pull it yourself with trains, hook and a come-all. I would only worry about the point that attaches to the skirt if you’re trying to do it on the mega cheap.

Also, regarding your valve cover gasket - if you’ve tried more than once on that fix with the same gasket then you’re wasting your time. Buy a new one, read several different tutorials and give it a real go.

Where can I get those things you mentioned to pull?

the gasket is actually new. Got it from advanced auto. I'm more concerned about the plastic engine cover. Was wondering if I should just try to tighten the bolts.

Hardware store. All you really want to do is pull the sheet metal where the attachments points are out to where they used to be.

On the gasket - it's not new if it's currently on your car and leaking. it's now used.

You can try to tighten the bolts, but this will only work if they were improperly tightened the first time around. Also, they snap easily, so there's that.

I'll just replace all the gaskets.

Do you recommend an after market made in Germany Valve cover like from URO?

The BMW valve cover will run me $500+
