Replace rear brake pads and rotors | Album
As mentioned a while back when adjusting the parking brake, I noticed the rear pads were near the end of their life. I ordered up the parts and here is the install. Nothing fancy, just a typical rear brake job. Parts: $100.94 | Zimmerman brake rotor (rear, ×2) | 150.3467.20 (compare with BMW OEM 34116855006) $48.46 | Textar brake pads (rear, ×2 sets) | 2331301 (compare with BMW OEM 34116780711) $16.33 | Textar brake pad wear sensor (rear) | 98046010 (compare with BMW OEM 34116780711) Pics: Quote:

New tire repair kit | Album
A while back the wagon suffered a flat tire on the freeway and it was not a great experience. Of course a AAA membership is probably the real solution, but until that happens we'll have to rely on a tire repair kit and air compressor. To that end, I picked up a couple very good tire repair kits highly recommended in off-roading communities. One for each car that doesn't have a spare tire. That means a kit for both the wagon and the clown shoe. It looks like these kits are a bit less expensive these days if you want to pick one up yourself. Replace front passenger side door pull | Album
The front passenger side door pull had gotten a bit chewed up and ratty over the years from past owners, so I replaced it. The only notable thing about the installation is that the plastic pins that hold the door pull to the door card are melted/plastic-welded at the factory. I used a cutting disc on a rotary tool to carefully remove them, and instead tapped threads onto the new pins and used washers and nuts to hold them in place, since I don't have a pin-melter on hand. There are a lot more images in the linked album, so check it out if you're interested. Parts: $88.38 | OEM passenger's side door pull (back half) (black color) | 51417230850 $20.74 | OEM passenger's side door pull (front half) (black color) | 51416971290 ~$3.00 | Dorman 6.4mm (1/4") flat washers (×50) | 799-040 $1.49 | Lowe's 8mm flat washers (×10) | 138144 $1.60 | Lowe's 7mm hex nut (×5) | 138115 Pics: |

Cheers!
Thank you. We love it as well. I imagine it is very difficult. And you don't want to know what BMW wants for just one door panel these days. ;D |

Thanks for mentioning that boulder tools puncture repair kit. I like to refresh them every 5 years or so and that looks like a good one! Amazon is in route.
