CIC retrofit from CCC
I just retrofitted a CIC head unit into my 2007 E93 that came with the old outdated CCC head unit. Its so much nicer and the navigation is more advanced. The Center screen is also High definition compared to the older screen. Its much easier to navigate around also. I have been waiting to do this retrofit for awhile but the options out there were too costly, so I went ahead and bought bits and pieces from ebay and put the kit together myself to spend the least amount of money for this retrofit..
CIC Head unit $550 (Ebay) CID HD screen $227 (Ebay) iDrive controller and center console trim $105 (Ebay) CID CAN/power connector to retrofit harnass to fit screen(61136954526) - $2.88 (dealer part) CIC cable, connects to CID for video signal (61119185171) - $38.50 (dealer part) USB Port (61319167196, superseded by 84109237656 ) - $26.50 (dealer part) USB Port cable "cable for USB to glovebox" (61129196805) - $25.90 (dealer part) CIC navigation voice emulator (Ebay) 78.76 Total 1028.64 I did the coding for the retrofit myself! You need to change the VO (vehicle order) in order for NCS to see the retrofit CIC module. To do this you need to change the production date of the car.. -Mine was #0307 changed to #0909 -Add $6VA also to VO -Then you Fa-write the VO to CAS and FRM module... -Default code the CIC module which should show up in NCS after changing the production date. THen everything should be up and running with the new CIC. I then used NCSexpert to code in: -DVD in motion -Legal disclaimer disabled on startup -Fuel stop stations Last edited by cn555ic; 11-11-2016 at 02:47 PM.. |

YOu have to either buy the FSC code from the dealer, or people who sell FSC navigation map update codes, or you have the software to generate it which is not cheap.
I am very pleased with the outcome of my car at this point...Looks and feels like a new car from the interior |

Just imagine I went from standard radio to CIC and combox retrofit. It is the best retrofit I have done so far. Re: FSC code, if somebody wants it at reasonable price and has bmw coding software, then give me a shout.

Since you have done the combox can you give some insight on what is entailed as that seems to be the progression of my next retrofit. Also how did you get BMW apps working? Did you return to V41? My unit already had v41 from original software so I got lucky in that respect but when it came to updating navi maps it was torture via DVD disk! Lol

I would save all the headaches and just get bimmeretrofit combox pnp harnass. What I need to know is people having SOS errors because they had BMW assist before. I still haven't heard anyone have any concrete info on how to get rid of this SOS error. Would you know? Or your car didn't have BMW assist to begin with

About SOS error, you only get it if you have TCU box. If you have mulf/ high mulf, then no issues. If you get stuck as SOS error, just give me a shout and I'll pm you the solution. Done it on a car and its easy to deal.

I am just gathering info when I do the retrofit..I llike to be prepared for everything before I even start the retrofit...I also modified and fitted the CCC screen housing which had a protective plastic shield over the screen to my new CIC screen. I didnt like how it was just exposed and felt it looked much better with that plastic lens. I dont know why BMW would take that out but one reason would be cost savings just like the hood insulation and the flashlight in the glove compartment which BMW eliminated entirely...

I removed 612 from my VO and SOS error gone. That's the solution, really easy. I even didn't tru +teld, however my car is from march 2010 built date, and I just replaced TCU with Combox telematik. 5 minutes to switch a pins to new connector and another minute for coding.
Combox is really great thing, but I didn't add BMW apps because I have xperia Z smartphone and not the iPhone 4 and 4s, it is not cool that only these two mobiles can work with BMW Apps. |
