I'm truely confused about what I need so I wonder if anyone can help. I want to freshen up the lighting on my 2008 E93 M-Sport starting with changing the current 'yellow' angel eyes for the LCI white LED look, can I do this with bulbs only? I am unsure if I need new lamps or not and the U.S part of the forum (99% of the whole forum then ) gets me in a muddle as their cars are spec'd differently. I'd also like to change the front interior light bulb, both map light bulbs, the two bulbs either side of the rear centre console, both vanity mirror bulbs in the sun visors, glove box bulb, both front footwell bulbs & the boot light bulb...I think that's all of them. Can anyone recommened a package for the E93? I've seen a few kits but they miss out some bulbs and most seem to focus on giving you LED numberplate lights, I don't know why as this was OEM on my car and I thought all of them.

I suppose the ultimate question to ask before I do anything though is, will any cause me to get 'bulb out' warning lights or require the car be coded?

I can help on the Angel Eyes. To be honest, i'd not bother wasting money on those. They look great at night but during the day, they are barely visible. The best solution for these is LUX H8's but come at a stonking price! If you are interested, I do have a set that are visible during the day in the for sale section (not as bright as the LUX H8's but decent during the day and trust me I've tried nearly 10 LED H8 Bulbs) Only selling as grabbed a set of LUX H8's going cheap

I'm looking for an interior LED kit. Will post back on the results.

I've used HIDS4U before and their HID kits are good quality but AE's are new to me. I'd defintely like something that's visible in daylight also but LUX are near £200 new which is ludicrous for bulbs so I'm keen to try something cheaper, I'll pop over to your FS .

I have a set of those ones from HIDS4U fitted to mine and they are visible in all but the brightess of days, and this doesn't really bother me as I only turn my lights on when its dusk/dark/heavy rain etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I tend to have my AE's on all day as part of the autolights feature, I guess I could turn them off but there are so many nutters on the road that don't pay attention it's good to stand out a little.

Any daytime/night pics at all, Chris?

I bought lux and paid the price including £40 import duty. Not really impressed. If i was doing it again it of bought a cheaper kit as NO kit will replicate LCI. They are just a bulb that lights a tube up at the end of the day!

That's a bit of a blow if true as I was hoping to achieve the LCI look on my 58 plate E92 soon, like JamJay. What is the actual physical difference, in respect of the lights, between a pre-LCI model and an LCI one then and why can't the "bright Angel Eye look" be replicated?

I don't think there is a bulb kit out there that will replicate the LCI E92/3 look. Unfortunetely, as mentioned it is because of the way the light is designed (i.e. the light tube construction) and is also why both rings don't light up evenly. Even with the stock halogen bulb the E92 lights don't light up too evenly.

I have the LUX's and they are probably the brightest of all that I've tried. I only got them as I picked up a second hand set. Otherwise I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on the LUX's to be honest.

There is no way to make the the E90 lci headlights look like the new coupe headlights with the white oem angel eyes. The physical design of the headlights is so different that its impossible to make them look identical using a plug and play bulb.

our LUX H8 V3 bulb is the brightest of all the LED Angel eyes and they have been designed to help make the inner and outer rings as close to equal brightness as possible. The color on these lights is a 6500k white which matches the OEM Xenon bulbs almost perfectly.

Not quite sure what you mean here. We're trying to get E92/3 pre-LCI headlights to look like the current coupe - not the new 3-series saloon (F30).

I believe he is referring to the current E90, not the F30.

I believe this problem is also with e90 headlights that take the different style E90 bulb.

I replaced mine with the angel eye LEDs from SSDD Motorsport and quite impressed.. Certainly a big improvement IMO.

Don't know if it's me but their website is difficult to navigate and I can't locate what kit I would need for a 58 plate E92 with Xenons and how much. Can anyone else get it?

For sure, those with the halogen headlights use the Valeo bulbs as AE's where the Xenon headlights use the H8 bulbs. Totally different setups.

I'v got a set of GP Thunder bulbs in my e93.
Cant go wrong for the money, they are decent enough without blowing ££s on a set of bulbs.

I installed a set of LUX H8s after alot of faffing about; a few tender moments with the dremel metal grinder and quite alot of profanity later I got them to fit into the LCI xenon H8 slots.
In the light of a bright summer day in Sydney they look a damn sight better than the stock orange shite but still a bit weak compared to any OEM LED DRLs.

Those SSDD Motorsport LED photos are taken in less than broad daylight conditions as far as I can tell (apologies if I'm wrong in advance Reggie) but in the midday sun they are hardly noticeable in my experience.

For me getting rid of those old skool orange, tungsten filament OEM H8s (WTF were BMW designers thinking?) was enough, anything else is a bonus frankly...
