Just a little warning to those fitting the 340mm version off F2x M135i etc or F3x 335i: Rotor hats distort easily.

It is a combination or a selection of these factors:
- Grub screws should be renewed as they seem to distort easily.
- Mishandling during removal off donor vehicle (clobbering with hammer)
- Dirty hub and/or bore hole in rotor hat

The 370mm version has a much wider hat and seems sturdier.
This has happened to two different pairs of 340mm discs.

In the interim i have removed the grub screws and clocked the disc to a position where the distortion (although minor and imperceptible with wheel mounted) is least likely to knockback the caliper pistons.

Onto more important things - do M3 hubs fit 335i? Are there any other bits that i would need to convert to get it to fit ?
Im not sure if the M3 hubs fits the 335 cuz i use the full rearend of the M3 including the sub-frame. Im sure one of the pros here can answer that for you. Also when i fit the 335 rotor on the M3 hubs the hole for that screw to lock them in do not line up, you would need to either drill new holes to lock the rotors on the hub, i choose not to reuse the screw cuz the rotors will be held by the wheels and the pads anyways.

Question:
I just purchased silver brake calipers non painted from 4 series they are front 4 pistons brembo and regular sliding rear brakes wouod the full kit front and rear fit my 06 330i ?
Can I use the rotors that came with the kit ?
What size rotors are they Incase I need to get slotted rotors ?
The kit came without sensors, what sensors do I need to use ?
Thank you for you help
Answer:
Rear brakes you can't install
You must use rotors from donor car
Front rotors are 340mm

There is nothing to be shaved on rear sliding calipers. Above is nothing about rear sliding calipers. Additionally, those rears are not an upgrade to what you already have. Try to sell them. Sensors are direct fit. No butt connectors needed.

Hi All,

Read through this a couple of times and there is some great info here!!! thanks to all the contributors.

I have an lci e92 335i couple and plan on using the 370mm performance calipers and discs from the f30, so:-

Front setup--
Discs : = 34106797603
left caliper = 34116799469
right caliper = 34116799470
pads = 34116865460

I'm pretty confident (from this thread) that all this is bolt on plug and play and will fit under my19's, winter mv4's and summer 313 alloys.

I have 2 choices as far as I can see.

1: The rear calipers and discs from the e8x 135 (324x24 discs), this should bolt on be plug an play.

or

2: the f30 rear calipers and either:

the f30 rear 345x24 disc (34206797600)

or

The e60 345x24 rear disc. (34216763827)

or

The f10 345x24 rear disc (34216775289)

I have a few questions about the rears,

A: are the rear calipers from the performance kits the same? (including the m2/m3/m4 rear calipers)?

If I use the f30 rear calipers, I know I need to mill 1-3mm from the calipers inner mounting lugs and drill the hub mounting lugs.

B: will either of the rear discs fit without a problem ? for things like the handbrake etc

Thanks

F10 rear disc 34216775289 won't work as they are 69mm tall.
E90/F30 are 66mm
E60 are 63mm
I hope you understand how this works.
Regarding parking brake, that will work fine.

Yeah, its clicked into place, its not just the diameter of the disc its the height of hat/bell/barrel as well. nice one, thanks. I get that now.

So its either the e8x 135i 324x24x77 disc (34216795754) (with the 135 rear caliper).

or the

The e60 535 345x24x63 rear disc. (34216763827) with the performance rear caliper.

63mm being oem and 61mm being non-oem (some brands).

Right, so if OEM discs its 3mm, if non oem discs then 1-2mm milled from the inner caliper lugs. Makes perfect sense.

Perfect.

With regard to the hub mounting lugs, is it just a case of making the hole bigger, or actually making them wider a 1 point? (like an oval)?

Ok so I'm going to attempt putting m3 hubs o the 335i to get the rears on. I was lucky enough to score a set for cheap. Will the stock 335i axles fit ?
The toe arms from an M3 dont fit 335i so ill need some... any recommendations ?
Of course ill be taking pics to help others do this but dont want to start without doing all of my homework first

I dnt think the m3 hub will fit with the 335 axles. The m3 are axle are much bigger than 335 axles.

Half axle will fit. Aus335iguy you can talk to vtl who has done M3 LSD swap into his 135i and confirm that the half shaft are interchangeable.

Never mind - i found the thread where VTL did his M3 diff swap. Looks like 335 and m3 axles are interchangeable but they are a b*&tch to get out of the hubs.

Is little too much involvement form money in part to doing the labor, either yourself or paying someone. So a lot of people milling the calipers, getting e60 rotors and drilling out the hub tab is so much better scenario I think. But you already bought the hubs so.... Is a problem to removed them but could be a problem to reinstall them as well. You might need special tool to pull the shaft through the bearing.

With the variance in depth in e60 rotors (2-3 mm) Im worried if i go that route when it comes time to replace rotors i may end up buying rotors that dont fit. The wheel carriers weren't expensive and the rest is labour component which is up to me basically. May end up going the other way but for the moment this keeping me interested - measuring, fitting up, machining fitting up is harder when you can only do it on a weekend. Reckon you would come to sydney feuer and do it for me in an afternoon ?

Sash, I can press out and pull in the shafts for you but you will need to do the final tightening of the axle nut on the car
