Pre-LCI e90s are all E90 models made before 2009. So years 2006-2008 are pre LCI, LCI versions being produced from 2009 and up.

Specifically in the sedan's case, the changes made from pre-LCI to LCI were the styling of the taillights, headlights, and lines on the hood plus other cosmetic changes.

I typically reset my mpg tracker weekly or around there because I drive a mix of leisurely and aggressively.

I average at least 21-25 city, 30+ easily highway once I'm up to speed.

Never any less than 20mpg though, and that's with sedate driving and spirited driving combined without resetting the mpg through the cluster.

There has been no noticeable difference in mpg since putting in 93 octane, but the car does run smoother and feels more responsive. Maybe it's in my head?

I also have an aftermarket cat-back exhaust installed which claims to be more "free-flowing" and fuel economic, but who really knows.

Well today i tried to match that 39 mpgs, not happening lol

so i ran my tank down to empty to get rid of the 87 octane, fill er up with 90 octane ethanol free which was more expensive than 93

my car average 27mpg on the last fill on 87

On the highway my mpg needle hovers around 50mpg but in traffic it drinks gas so according to the computer im now averaging 31mpg.

I could have increased that number to maybe 35 mpg but theres this mid range punch that i noticed from 2500 to 3500 rpm after fueling up with 90octane ethanol free thats just intoxicating so i gave up on trying to get max mpg.

Yeah I really don't care about mpg I was just trying to activate some sensors for an inspection which worked. Usually I give the car hell. Have fun with it

Yup ... but most of the time I'll use Sport vs Manual.

It doesn't really make sense to drive around in manual mode when you have an auto with a good sport mode. So unlike if I had a manual transmission; I'm not ringing out the gears or shifting a bit past the shift point for shits & giggles during my daily driving.

I typically utilize the manual mode if I want to stay in a particular gear ... not really going thru them (although about once/twice a week, I do use the manual mode to bring it up and down the rpm range to stave off the dreaded N52 tick)

I read that from factory the car's timing is set to 87 octane in NA. As you use 91, the car auto adjusts for it after a certain amount of miles...I'm by no means a pro, just what i read on another thread.

You either have some issues with your car, or you're racing from light to light. You sure that figure is correct?
6-manual should get ~17MPG ALL city.
6-auto should get ~18MPG ALL city.

Yeah, it's correct. Right now it's at 13.1mpg. I think it might be the fuel injectors, which I'll replace soon. I occasionally drive hard, but I definitely don't race from light to light.

stock non sport 2011 335i xDrive 53k miles and I've been getting 16-18mpg BUT I drive it like once a week with 90% of the time sitting in the car waiting for someone to come out to me.

However when I drive to my parents in my car I can get a high as 30 mpg all highways (no traffic at 60 to 70 mph) over a 25 mile mostly flat stretch.

So I know my car is capable of great mpgs I just don't have the chance to achieve that.

I average 25mpg in my N55 335i. I do a decent split of city and highway driving, but a lot of my "city" driving is on 45-50mph roads.

If i have a heavy foot I average 23.5-24mpg.
