A major annoyance I have is when my phone is connected, and then I unplug it, the radio starts automatically playing and at a super loud volume. This almost blows my eardrum out every time. Another issue I have with the n6 is when my bluetooth is connected to my iphone, it automatically starts playing music from my iphone library. This is also super annoying and scary to my ears as well.

Is there a fix to the two aforementioned issues?

when you unplug a device the dynavin will switch to the next available source, that is normal, the volume does not "change" BUT if your ipod is much quieter than the radio station you will have the volume up and when it changes to a different source it may be a louder song, etc.... In the sound settings menu there is a source level setting to adjust the relative volume between sources, you probably need to turn the radio level setting down so that it matches the perceived loudness of the other sources.

Yes, if you have the unit on streaming audio it will start playing automatically, regardless of what the source is it will start playing when you start the car. That is what it is supposed to do and is how most people want it, you get in, start the car and the music starts up. This is not exclusive to the dynavin, almost all car audio systems work this way and the phone is designed to play when connected as well.

If its not something you like your best bet is to get into the habit of lowering the volume when you leave the car, Ive been an audio guy for most of my life and its standard practice for me to lower the volume when I arrive somewhere so I do not get a surprise the next time I get in the car!

my unit is dying!!!

jeffb335 like a month ago my unit started to fail, from no reason the music stops and the screen start to become white, and obviously i cant do anything, i have to rest the unit with the "source" button and then turn the unit off for a while and then start to work again.

here is a pic and video

Both of these are likely the same thing, a bad solder joint from an early batch, it’s been discussed earlier in this thread. Contact your dealer, if that’s me send me an email, and we can look into a repair.

Too bad your dealer was not getting things done for you...I'm not sure but I thought I heard that dynavin found a new rep in the UK? Probably due to the kind of service you got (or didn't get)

Same problem on my 2010 320d (euro spec car) with N7 with latest firmware. Also, mirrorlink works with Android 7 devices but does not with my Android 8.0.0 Samsung phone.

Thanks. Do you know if they accept bug reports at Dynavin?

Talk to your dealer, if its a legitimate bug they can pass it on to their contacts at dynavin.

Or just send an email to the address on their "contact us" page on their website.

Sorry, I cant account for how other dealers treat or respond to their customers.

But hopefully just because you did not get a response does not mean that your feedback was not noted.

Actually I bought my N7 from dynavin.com, which is in Germany. Anyways, I agree with you, no feedback does not imply that they don't care.

TPM reset problem - Has anyone had an issue resetting TPM with Dynavin N6 installed. My car is late '06 build 2007 e90 335i and uses tire rotation speed instead of TPMS. The red light came on correctly with low tire but cannot be reset after fix as reset option when scrolling is gone. Dealer has car now and thinks it has to do with the Dynavin.

The dealer thinks there is a canbus communication issue. Has anyone had the canbus interface box supplied with the Dynavin go bad?

Yeah, Ive never heard of that, drove my own 335 for more than 5 years with various Dynavins in it, reset the TPMS many times, no issue. You can unplug it to see but I think you have something else going on there.

I finally got around to fixing my BIGGEST bug bare of the Dynavin N6 unit, the radio being loud on the lowest audio setting with a factory HiFi setup.
  • I bought a line out converter:
https://www.amazon.com/Scosche-SLC4-.../dp/B000BFL52Q
  • I wired it within the Dyanvin harness as follows
View post on imgur.com

  • I changed the switch over to Factory AMP and changed the Factory AMP gain adjustment counter clockwise 90 degrees.

Now the radio volume is perfect!

I ended up trying one of those Xtrons units with the huge screen, however, the quality was just terrible. It had so many features I wanted, including Apple Car Play without paying the overly expensive Dynavin price. There were so many issues with that unit, I gave up after 3 weeks and went back to my Dynavin.
