Upgrade 330d front brakes to 335 brakes
Upgrade 330d front brakes to 335 brakes.
seems this has been done in the states quite a few times, with good results. I'm not wanting to go to the expense of the BMW Performance setup, just wanting the bigger disc area that the 335 disc(348mm) offer. Anyone in the UK know a good source for the 335 calipers, or any feedback on this upgrade? |

Not sure what the shipping costs or import tax would be, but they're here for $100 each:

OP - that's a lot of bits!
You'll need complete calipers, brake carriers, all the nuts and bolts, pads, discs, sensors and maybe disc shields too. IMO you'd be better off getting the BMWP kit, probably not much differenct in price, might even be cheaper! |

I don't think he will have any ''fitting/warranty/insurance'' issues anyway...

Can't see it affecting the warranty TBH. Not fitting OE BMW parts.

Have a wanted addy running for a few days now and no responses. dxb335d - Do you know of any dedicated BMW breakers I may be able to get a pair of calipers from? No warranty issues as i dont have one... |

The brakes on the 330 are ok for a few repeated stops, but once you get into some spirited driving they soon begin to fade.
335 has larger diameter and thicker disc's meaning heat can be disipated quicker and the lever ratio is higher. Also as Parapal says some people like to mod cars. |

Dont forget to change the rears too (are they different too?)
or you will upset the brake bias, possibly making your stopping distances slightly worse at limit braking. You might note the BMWP kit discs are the same size - for this reason. More pistons wont help you any - except to empty ones wallet. Choice of pads and fluid is the most important in every case (assuming your tyres are not the bottleneck) Try Motul RBF600 as a cheap start point. Steve

I have a full front and rear set up of my 335d, 2007 inc carriers, that i have just removed to fit BBK. Could be tempted if a good offer but was planning on keeping and returning to spec when sell the car and selling the BBk sepertly.

I have to say the brakes on a 330D could be better, and i've not remapped it yet. BBK will be on the cards if I go down that route, so be interested to see which way you go with this
