Guys I'm almost at the stage of scratching.
Can someone please tell me if I'm loosing the plot. I have a 18mknth old 320d msport plus AW. H/k Pro nav Via pack Would I be mad to switch to a f20 m sport? 125i estoril blue. Must have h/k and nav. Am I crazy? |

Well if you're not enjoying your car, what's the point of keeping it?

Ive had mine for 2 months now and it really is a great car. We have the 116i m sport in estoril and im really enjoying it. The m sport is a big improvement on the se/sport version. Ive had a e90 before too but the f20 is a better drive. The suspension setup on the runflats is a lot better, more compliant and doesnt crash about. Im sure the 125i with that engine would be great fun!

I'd be interested in seeing how it is with the auto box too. Though that may suit the d more.
There are some decent prices on business contract hire too. I can play around with the (now ruined) configurator, tick virtually every box and know it would come in at less than I'm paying for my E91. |

Oh dear,
Been in touch with the dealer awaiting quotation for 125i msport with prof nav, h/k, sun protection pack. From my own maths it comes in under what im paying now. My current car will clear the settlement fee I owe. I know this is costing me as if I wait I will see some equity in my current car, but I guess it a 30th birthday pressie for moi! I guess I fancy going to a 1series for a few reasons. The previous 1er I had was so nimble and agile, it was a 116i although being a little under powered it was still fun. I think the f20 with msport spec looks fantastic can't help but add a few performance goodies though! I do want to own a petrol again because diesel just doesnt sound the same and that could be the decider. To go to new 3 series and get a petrol engine thats suitable for the size of the car makes me question whether I want to spend that much on something which at the end of the day is meant to get me from a to b + some fun. If there was more time for "fun" a bigger petrol 3er would likely be where I would go, also now the wife has the "family wagon" it paves the way for a not quite hot hatch but atleast a toastie one. Damn I've sold it to myself |

I quite like the idea of a 135i coupé, seems like a winning combo.
I think the 125i might be a little sluggish especially if your wanting to have fun with it. |

Do it!
They are a lot cheaper than a 3 series so yes it will prob cost less a month. But you can always come back to a 3 in a couple of years, if you need too. When I had a the old 1 series for a couple of days I really liked the handling - its better and more fun than the E90 due to it being lighter I guess. From what i've read the F20 is even better. I'd like one if I didnt need a larger car. |

VS VS More seriously though, am sure they are fab cars, but am just far too shallow to even think about driving one...on the other hand if I park my E90 next to one in the car park all of a sudden my car looks like its been styled by Pininfarina Last edited by gangzoom; 07-07-2012 at 01:46 AM.. |
