Throttle reset 330i msport 2006 ?

Hi Guys,

Just been reading that there is a possibility that if I reset the throttle sensor it may make the car a little more responsive ? I've had the car say 6 months and never done this since buying it. Is this a step I should do ? And how do I please do it . Thankyou

I remember reading a thread about this, I've posted the link for you
I tried it myself, can't really remember if it made a difference or not, it was a few years ago.

And here's the link to how the procedure is
reportedly carried out.

Think I read on BimmerProfs that you can also re-set just by turning on the ignition (don't start) then press and release the throttle pedal three times.

This is what you used to have to do to reset the throttle adaptions in the days of the E36 etc. Not sure if it is still effective on the IBM Supercomputer Operating Systems that more modern cars appear to require.

Regardless of how you achieve the reset it is all about perception. Because many years ago BMW decided that it is a good idea for the car to "learn" how you drive items like throttle response and auto gear change points would tailor themselves to the way you normally drive the car.

Since you have not had the car that long you may still have the legacy of the previous owners habits depending on how much you have driven it and how different your driving style is to the previous owner.

You will not do any harm by resetting the throttle adaptions you are just forcing the learning process to start from scratch but do not expect to unleash a beast under the bonnet!
