Ferric Grey vs Bronze on my MV3’s for refurb

Hi Guys & Girls,

I’ve had my black sapphire E90 for just over a year now and I’m looking at having the wheels refurbished and thought I would use this opportunity to change up the colour.

My current MV3’s are silver and I’m torn between Ferric grey (which is a clear favourite after looking at many threads) and a dark bronze colour which I feel goes really well withy black cars.

Just wanted people’s opinions and pictures of their wheels with a black car!

Thanks in advance

JTM

Firstly, my old E91 with anthracite grey.

And with Ferric grey. Ferric grey is quite bronze in appearance. Ferric Grey II is the more grey colour.

Thanks guys i can see why people like the anthracite grey, it does look really good.

I'm going down to the wheel specialists tomorrow for a quote and to look at the colours in person

Second one is bronze. Don't care what anyone says you can call it whatever bull shit grey you want, its bronze.

Vote for first one, though both look good.

Ferric grey. Antracite makes the rims look smaller. IMO.

I totally understand your dilemma. When I was car shopping, I didn't want black because of the upkeep, but thought if I did get one, or a dark grey one, I'd go with a bronze wheel. Personally, I prefer the anthracite over the ferric, and bronze over copper...but between bronze/anthracite, I'm not much help except that I'm leaning more towards anthracite. 3 reasons for that, personally, 1. The E92 I bought is LeMans Blue and prefer the anthracite on it, and 2. I feel like I'd get tired of the bronze, while anthracite is a color I've loved for a long time and it hasn't lost its appeal to me, and 3. The copper/bronze takes a very specific look of the car to pull it off. When I see it on stock height and non modded cars, it's kinda out of place, at least from the photos I've seen.

also hot brake dust does not affect grey as much as lighter colours,,thats if you do plenty of braking and dont clean wheels often,,my mv2 wheels on my e46(when i had them) went a sort of rusty tinge to them, they were silver,,cannot see it on grey..black can show it up also as that is what is on my e46 now..but my e90 has grey wheels and look great still

Anthracite looks phenomenal

Has anyone done this with M313's? Mine are corroding and I'm looking for a cost effective refurb

Had mines done in anthracite, the diamond cut finish started looking quite bad, looks far better now.
