Bluetooth acting crazy
Hello...I have a 2007 335i that I bought new. Up until Monday my bluetooth has worked perfectly. Now when I start the car the car's bluetooth comes up on my radio and looks like I am on a connected call. The Radio is playing but I can't change the station or disconnect the bluetooth. There are no end call buttons showing. The only way to break the (phantom) connection that appears on the radio is to disconnect the bluetooth from the cell phone setup. To make sure it wasn't my blackberry causing the problem, I tried connecting with my Droid and had the same problem. So now I am thinking it must be a problem with my car. I also tried to call my phone that was supposedly connected and the line went dead as soon as it started ringing...but the phantom connection was still there. I would appreciate any ideas why I am having this problem or suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks.

I really have no answer for you, but the same thing happened to me with my blackberry. I tried everything but after a couple of days it starting working fine again.
Maybe it was something I did, maybe it wasn't. |

I ask the questions you're afraid to ask.

Try deleting the phone from the car and the car from the phone.
Reboot your phone. Turn your car off, let it sit overnight then retry pairing your phone. I've seen this several times with Blackberries. |

Mine did the same thing with a Blackberry. Doing a battery pull on the Blackberry fixed it. Didn't appear to be an issue with the car. It hasn't happened again.

My wife and I had problems with Bluetooth on our cars (she has an Acura) after a software upgrade on our phones. We deleted the pairing and repaired our phones to our respective cars - fixed the problem.
I'd start with the easiest thing first, which is jjohnson's battery pull. |

Thank you!
Yea! Pulling the battery and refinding the phone worked! Thanks so much for your suggestions...Can't imagine why pulling the battery never occurred to me before you guys mentioned it! I love this site
