Austin TX DPF/SCR/EGR Delete
Does anyone know of a shop in the Austin TX area that will work on removing the emissions components?
Every shop I've tried refuses to touch it... legal reasons. |

I know a shop in South Texas (like, 5 hours south in McAllen, that'll do the work, but they're pricey). If you want details, just drop me a PM.
I know you don't wanna drive, and they're a busy shop, so it might be a few days for them to get it finished; good short vacay maybe? |

Be careful on these deletes in Austin. I am 90% sure that Travis and Williamson counties require actual emissions testing per some EPA designation.
I am in Hays county and so far we are not included. I took my 2011 335d to Bimmer Performance Center in Raleigh NC. Deletes, stage 2+ tunes, full exhaust. Very pleased and well worth the trip to get it right. |

I checked Txdot website and while Elpaso, Williamson, and Travis counties do have specials requirements, it does make reference to gasoline powered engines. So hopefully I was in error. Regardless, check it out for yourself before deleting emissions.

Well so much for that 90% confidence level. That's great news; I was worried that my county would get pulled into it. It would be a tough sell to the wife that I was turning the car into a race car because I could not pass inspection.

Just curious why would you want to delete them?
I've driven behind diesel with no DPF/SCR that was aggressively/badly mapped. It was not good. You feel the poison entering your lungs giving huge headache afterwards. Sure it's small dose but exposure to it every day eventually messes up health. |
