How would this be for a start?
Don't know if the markers will work on the linked map. It is about 140km through the National Park, along the coast, then up to Mittagong/Bowral.
http://maps.google.com.au/maps/mm?hl...&t=h&z=10&om=0 Nope, markers weren't retained, so here's a screen dump: Last edited by GeriFix; 02-12-2008 at 04:26 AM.. Reason: Link didn't work properly |

If everyone decides to go ahead with this cruise, I might leave you guys at Woollongong... Uni will have started again by then, and no doubt I will have assignments to do...

Or alternatively
Through the National Park, along the coast, up toward Wilton, back to the coast and home through the National Park.

Yeah the Gong drive is always nice. I reckon we should organise for the Gong by the Natio run. Then on the day see who is keen for Kangaroo valley or just the Natio down and back. What does everyone think??

We had a couple of e36's last time
I have a few alternate routes and destinations if anyone is interested? One is quite a short one though, as oposed to something that will take all day... And the other is a nice drive too, also not too long A run from Homebush, Olympic Park (as it is pretty central in Sydney), to Windsor for some good food and desert For those of you who haven't been to Windsor before, click here... It's a nice town This cruise would most likely take about an hour, not including lunch of course! Or alternatively a cruise from Homebush to Balmoral Beach, and have some food there. Also a nice spot! Do any locals know a good post? Heard anything about Awaba? Those of you who live around the beaches could meet us there if you didn't wanna drive the 20 mins out As a sugestion, we could keep the date of either march 8 or 9 for this? What does everyone think?

we can stop at Bald Hill in Stanwell Park if you dont wanna drive all the way to the Gong.
that said for those who are keen, it'd be a nice drive through Macquarie Pass and stop over at the Robertson Pie shop for their famous pies! anyway i'm easy, don't mind to drive up to the Northern Beaches either. |

I'm up for any drive
It's a pity you couldn't make the 'Gong drive astra. I like Ninja333's suggestions to flesh it out. Mascot to Robertson is about 140kms. Balmoral Beach is a nice destination, but not much of a drive. Don't know much about Awaba except it's across the road from the beach. I've only ever been to Bather's Pavillion and Watermark down there, which both look directly over the beach. |

Yeah I was keen on the Gong drive with some mates, wanted to show the Mrs the Sydney to Gong bike ride. Maybe some other time then.
Awaba's okay, nothing great. But a good spot to grab a coffee, its busy with locals on the weekends though |

Was just thinking Balmoral cos it is a nice spot, and on short notice, it's hard to organise something for a long trip... Quote:
Ok, good to know

Saturday 8th March is good for me, can't do Sunday.
Balmoral or Windsor sounds good. I prefer the shorter drives. Went to Palm Beach last week, and had dinner at Newy. It was decent enough. |

Ok, so a few people are up for the shorter drive... For those who preffer this, should it be windsor or balmoral?
