That's looks very promising, now, is a full tune recommended for this, is this mod a separate tune? I would imagine a full tune with this mod would be ideal, but as of now, is this a Bpc only tune?

So as it stands right now-
-For the Stage 1 +0.5mm MILVs, BPC did not see any increase in power with just bolting them on and No tune. However there was no time given for the ecu to adapt. -BPC saw good power gains with the 0.5mm MILVs and their tune on both the N/A and turbocharged N52 -With Stage 2 +1mm MILVs on a N/A N52 with all the available bolt on's- 3IM, PI/AFE, PE, secondary delete, headers, 'felt' more power with just bolting on the MILVs, but 'felt' huge power gain after adding BPC tune, dyno to follow -For the N/A N52 and Turbo N52, BPC has the tune figured out for the Stage 1 +0.5mm MILVS and is currently working on the Stage 2 +1mm MILVs tune now. -No MILVs have been tried on a N55 yet. IDK what is involved in the needed tune changes. ?Adding more fuel for the added airflow? Changing the Valvetronic table? IDK, that's BPCs area of expertise. |

How do I get a set of the stage 2? My 328i is a weekend car. I don't mind taking the factory support out in order to get modified for couple of days.

I've been considering asking for a set of the V2s as well (if they're even available anymore), but it wouldn't make sense for me to pay for a BPC tune. I'd have to either let the ECU adapt, or try to work with AA to see if they could do something with their v3 tune that would account for the extra lift. Since I'm nowhere near Miami, they'd have to do that without a dyno, so I don't know if that's even possible.

Yeah no MILVs left.
I have 1 set of stage 1 MILVs that I will get modified to stage 2. 2 sets of used supports and just ordered 5 more new sets due in at the end of the month. I will then take all 8 sets to the machinist to become Stage 2 MILVs. So probably mid September. Ha, 'Cobra Valvetronic Supports' or 'CVS' for short. I might get trouble for that one. |

This is all great stuff and makes the n52 more promising, the AA tune may not be for this mod, I figured Bpc has there own table just for this, it may be a tune only upgrade. I'd like to see if the ecu could adapt.

Do you know exactly what needs to be modified, or is it more complex than changing a single set of values? It would be nice to be able to work with AA to get the necessary changes, rather than paying for a full BPC tune.

Yes, but AA will have to figure that out on their own.

I'm no tuner for these N52 MSV70 and MSV80, Hassmachine and BPC are the experts, but I think that the area in the valvetronic table that gets tweeked is just the last 2 values.
I'm probably wrong but my guess is- The 120.256* should have a lift value about 7.32mm instead of 6.920mm and 179.988* should have a lift value about 11.1mm instead of 10.10mm 90.132* can stay at 5.010mm. |

To get the most out of this will probably require a dyno and good knowledge of these DMEs Edit: I forget to mention all of the Valve lift tables in particular full load will need to be modified. Last edited by rjahl; 08-05-2017 at 06:48 PM.. |

Expecting 5 sets of new supports to be delivered in a couple of days via FedEx plus the 2 sets of returned used supports and 1 set of new stage 1 supports. All 8 sets will be going to the machinist the following week and all 8 sets will be Stage 2.
