Can anyone clarify if this DIY will work on a 08 E92? Ive got INPA loading on my computer now and I tried using it last night. But I got to the part where you select the injector screen and I got an error, and of course I don't remember what the error was now.
So I tried deleting everything and doing the DIY from the other site like you guys are trying, but I had problems getting everything to work, and INPA won't even load. I think it may have to do with the fact I'm using Windows 7 Home premium and I need to use XP mode, which Home Premium doesn't have? So I deleted all that work from the other site and started over with Vasillalov's DIY and I've got INPA loading again... so I'll have to try it on the car again later today. But, I've read all 9 pages of this thread a couple times and I'm still confused as to wether this DIY from Vasillalov will work on a E92 or not? For now, all Im wanting to do is code my injectors... I running around with one non-coded injector right now, which was running fine, but now I just started getting a misfire from a different injector... So I've got two new injectors waiting to go in, to replace my last two "old style" injectors!

Why did you even bother with the other downloads?! Try the zip file I posted! It is all there! Yes, my zip file will work for E90, E91, E92, E93 and E89!

Translation was done last week. I did some tests and it appears I've missed a few small sections which are still in German. Otherwise, the lastest MSD80 file is ready to be released in English form!
I have a 3-day weekend and I might be able to get this done!

But I got it working tonight and I officially checked and coded my injectors!!! Now I just need to replace the last two old injectors tomorrow and hopefully I'll finally get to see just how fast this car can be!! Thanks Vasillalov for the DIY and everyone else who helped out!

The INPA screen sais E90, but that's a platform designation rather than a model designation. To be honest, the E90 is the basis on which the coupe, the vert and the wagon are built!

Messing with the other controllers is the scope of different DIYs, however.

OK, I got my cable and gave this a try. When I open INPA, the battery and ignition lights are white (not black). I know this means some sort of communication problem, but I think I have everything correct.
My device is on COM18. I updated obd.ini in C:\EDIABAS\BIN and in C:\Windows. I saw there was another one directly in C:\, is that normal? I got the drivers installed that were from LTDI (or whatever it was). I added a semi-colon + C:\EDIABAS\BIN to the end of my PATH and defined the new variable (and rebooted). Any other common things I could be missing? I am not really computer unsavy, the instructions seemed pretty easy to follow. |

Glad that you finally got it fixed! I bet there are a bunch of cars out there with miscoded injectors.

You were correct sir! I moved it over to COM1 (COM3-17 were in user for some reason) and it connected! I got my current coded values and am going to cross check them against the injector stamps. I have a real feeling I am going to find something is up with cylinder 1's injector.
