I discoverd this while at a dates house and she was in my lap. Guess enough weight and the unlock button is pressed. Thank god I didnt spend the night, the interior only got wet, not flooded.
The really annoying shit is, with the default coding, you dont even get the option to use the lock button to close everything. |

Had recently purchased a used 335i, and was going through a heap of engine problems, which all seem to cascade from 1 to another. What I know now, but didn't at the time. I'm driving on hwy up into the hills. Outside temp approx 2 - 3C (37F), and this yellow warning icon appears on the heads up display. At the time, looked like a gear sprocket, which in turn freaked me out, and pulled into emergency lane, thinking, limp mode wasn't far away. A quick search on mobile to Mr google revealed the real truth, thankfully. Not to say I didn't use some colourful words before that enlightenment |

I always liked this thread.
Little Halloween photo.. I've never seen it before but the kidnap trunk release is glow in the dark. Not sure how much light it's going to be seeing if you've been abducted but why not it's fun right

I just found the roadside assist button, hidden under a button cover. It's a really cool button, it's too bad there aren't missile launchers or something activated by that button.
Haven't pressed the button yet, I wonder if anything will happen after 15 years.

My favorite button in the car. When I get stuck behind slow left lane drivers I pretend to launch missiles at them. Very cathartic. I'm tempted to press the button too, but I'm not sure if it will dial 911…

In the arm rest there's a button to turn on cooling option so you can store a drink and keep it cool

I just finished reading this entire thread and one thing I’d like to add for new readers is that info contained within will vary greatly depending on your model, year, idrive and whether or not you have comfort access on your car.
For example, the residual heat button* sounded cool (for pages and pages of reading), until I realized the reason I couldn’t find it was - it was in pre-lci cars, along with the vented center cooling cup holder, and flashlight in the glove compartment. So just realize you mileage may vary when reading this thread. *I understand it can be coded for Lci cars. A lot of what I learned was things they deleted the newer the cars got. Like a key for the trunk, etc. Given I have an e93, I can said several thing work differently on those models and there is obviously much less info on them. A really dumb favorite feature between putting down the top on the E93 and on the E46, is the e93 doesn’t automatically roll up the windows after you put the top down. I love this! Also one of those things that I don’t know for a fact, but just know it’s true: Is the auto adjusting sound volume on the stereo is designed that way so it constantly turns the radio down hoping that you don’t notice how really bad the stereo is. I had the premium HK system in the e46 and it was fine. This car has hifi (not base) and it would be hard-pressed to find a worse stereo than this in a car made after the 1980s. Note I had the auto adjust sound in the e46, but it basically could be turned off when adjusted to 1. For those of you who wish you had the auto down turning side mirror, not to worry, it’s the very first thing I turn off in these cars because I have my mirrors adjusted so I don’t have blind spots. If you learned to drive in the United States, you were not taught this in school. Here’s a link to a short tutorial that will make a world of difference in your every day driving, simply by how you adjust your mirrors. http://www.linquist.net/motorsports/articles/mirrors You can always adjust your mirror later to stare at the curb if need be. Oh another thing my e93 doesn’t do is fold in the auto mirrors or put up the windows when I touch the CA handle to lock my car. Not a biggy, just saying different models, years, and packages do different things. So read and enjoy! Last edited by Sparkles; 04-17-2022 at 09:31 PM.. |

On my e93 the fob will open the top if I hold the unlock button/CA handle or close the top/fold the mirrors if I lock it or hold the handle. You can also code the top to close/open in motion at low speeds. There’s also a small compartment in the rear seat. |
