This is such a sweet build, love seeing wide body projects! Can't wait to see this bad boy finished! Btw is your car a Pre-LCI 335i?

Had some time to finish welding the bottom of the front cover today... Hard to see much change in the picture but the bottom of the bumper I made about 1.5'' on each side to cover more of the tire. Just didn't look right before. If you compare this picture to the previous ones the difference can easily be seen. Prepping for paint this week, should get it sprayed in the next few weeks.

when you say welding the front bumper?? you mean molding? And either way, yes it looks way better, sorta like the Vorsteiner wide body front bumper the flare on the side of the bumper sets it off. mine i plan on leaving the flare wide....leaving the front bumper smaller but flaring the under tray diffuser..like this guy:maybe a thicker and wider diffuser though.

[QUOTE=GabeS;17390468]fucking beautifull man!~I love how were both doing similar builds.. but totally different styles..

Check out Urethane Supply Company... They have plastic welders that make best repair possible. And with your setup a splitter might work well. Check into APR. And maybe some custom extensions or something. Can't wait to see you build man. I'm glad this tread is inspiring to others, gotta stay motivated with your build! |

Can you show us what the backside of the bumper cover looks like? I've been researching plastic welding and am wondering what the weld looks like. I haven't seen a good video yet of the process. A "How To" would be awesome. I know there are a lot of us curious about creating a unique bumper using parts from other PP bumpers.

Thanks for the plastic welding info, I never knew the mesh was a part of the process, it looks perfect on the side that matters. Can you use filler to smooth out the weld on the finished side? I've heard filler sometimes breaks loose from PP. Anyway, the car is looking great, I can't wait to see it painted.
