The process was super easy:

1)make the appointment at your local BMW dealer (let the know ahead of time you would like to keep your car at home)
2)sign the paperwork at the time of the appointment (they will verify mileage/etc)
3)drive you E9x home, and contact Enterprise to pick you up.

My dealership and SA was super helpful from the start.
Man.. that's awesome! When I got hit in my Z4, BMW dealership gave me a rental for a month because they made a mistake somewhere in the repair so to compensate for their mistake, gave me a 2016 328i as a loaner. After the month, they referred me to Enterprise and I got a Toyota Yaris. If you don't know what that is (I didn't know either until it became my car for 2 months ), here's a picture;

I just called my dealership and they told that the first letter we received is to let us know that the recall has been announced and we will receive a second letter stating what to do next. Also, any long term loaner will have to contact BMW of North America...?

I took my car in and ended up getting a Ford Fusion through Hertz. I couldn't stand driving it so I called back and they swapped me into an 18' Camaro Convertible. It's not that bad but the turbo lag is horrible.

I'm rocking a 2018 740i provided by Enterprise. Not a car I would ever buy, but it's a pretty sweet change of pace.

Just like everyone else, went to BMW, signed some paperwork, (I luckily left my BMW at home) and got a ride from BMW to enterprise, been driving a 17 x3 for about a month now, kind of glad considering the snow in Boston.

At least in Boston I didn't have to say anything. Sounded like they are giving everyone BMW's. Just ask if they offer you something else though.

Does anyone have a PDF version of the letter they received from BMW stating that alternate transportation would be provided? Up here in Canada, there was no mention of that in our letter from BMW. I would love to get my hands on a PDF copy of the letter that everyone else seemed to received that states BMW would provide alternate transportation while waiting for repair.

I'm thinking if I have a copy of that PDF I will have some more leverage while negotiating a loaner vehicle!

Thanks in advance!

Excellent, thank you very much! I appreciate it! I will report back as to how it goes! It seems as if BMW Canada are sticklers when it comes to handing out loaners!

The letter just states that you "may request alternate transportation from your BMW center" we could request alot of things from a dealer but i'm betting the request will be denied but the best of luck to you in getting it.

Do we need to wait for the letter or better pull out the blower motor wiring just in case to show to the dealer to get them act on the recall ?
I surely feel the former is a better option

LOL Camaro is definitely better than the Fusion BUT, what do you tell them; "I don't like this car!", "i want something sportier", do you ask politely or are you one of those disgusting customers? I need to know so I can try this

Also, are these loaners paid by BMW or by our insurance?

Go ask for service manager say you don't feel comfortable and safe driving the car and say you want a loaner

Don't wait for a letter. If they deny you call BMW NA

After 5 weeks with a X3 rental, finally got the call from SA Manager from the Peabody BMW as I hate herb chambers in Allston, parts are ready and I will be dropping off my car tomorrow.

BMW Canada is just constantly giving us the shaft...

- no extended warranty for n54 wastegate rattle problem
- no extended warranty for n54 injectors
- over 2 years and still no ETA on parts for airbag recall
- refusing to provide loaners for outstanding recalls

wouldn't be surprised if it'll be another year before parts will be available for this blower motor recall.

That's great news!

Keep us posted on the new parts and how long the install process takes.

I didn't ask for a BMW; I honestly expected a Sonata/Altima/etc., but was very surprised they put me into the F32 Msport.
