335i auto (turbo tuner) vs c6 corvette
hey guys i went to irwindale speedway last night and i raced my 335i with the turbo tuner
i only had enough time to run it one time... i did a 1/8 mile in 8.425 @ 84.33 mph. my 60' time was 1.934 with runflats and my r/t was .560 this was with 91 oct my best time before the turbo tuner was 8.733 @ 81.08 with 93 oct. but anyways on the way home me and me brother raced on the freeway. we both started @ 60 mph on third gear by the time i hit 100 mph i had him about 1-1/2 car lengths i was very happy the way i pulled on him... then we tried third gear @ 70 mph by the time i hit 100 mph i had him 1 car i think his car can beat me when it opens up...he bearly has 900 miles...his car is a 6mt with z51 pkg. sorry i dont have any videos. |

He didn't want to shift to aggressively with a brand new car or must be a really bad driver. Think about it, his C6 makes 330-340hp and 350-360tq at the wheels on a car that's more aerodynamic than yours and weighs a good 400 lbs less. With equal drivers, C6 should pull you by 2 car lengths especialy from on the freeway where it absolutely SHINES. |

Granted I'm not stock now, but even at stock level I gave a CLS55 AMG more than it could handle on the highway. These things are monsters at just about every speed. A stock C6 does 0-100 in about 9.5 sec. so a race between a stock C6 and a tuned 335i would be close, but the C6 would likely pull away the longer the race continued. |

Can someone explain to me the reason for racing 1/8th mile?

good run, but yea a properly c6 let along a z51 would have given you a whooping given your 1/8 trap speed...those things haul freaking ass on the highway, stock a c6 tops out at what, 180mph?
light weight, great coefficient of drag, and long gears for top speed make the vette very crazy....a few bolt-on's and the c6 can easily make 400whp n/a |

Read the OP again.. Sounds like the C6 is still in break-in and the driver did not unleash its fury..

The break-in on the LS2 is only 500 miles. I'm going with B, did not unleash its fury or C, has not completely figured out how to unleash its fury.

It's gotta be hard not to break traction all of the time, no? Maybe not, they probably put some pretty wide rears on there.. But yeah, B and/or C, and I think the OP concurs with that..

When it's as cold as it's been the last couple days, yep, it's hard as hell to not break traction under hard acceleration even in 2nd and 3rd gears. But who's complaining, throwing down that power is part of the fun of owning the car.

Wait, maybe not.. that would probably make it too disappointing driving the 325 after being in the C6..

I know what you mean. After I test drove the C6 and got back into my M3, it felt like someone had thrown a moose in the trunk. The M3 never felt the same after that.

C6 officially added to the "do not test drive before having the funds list.." Next to C5 Z06.. For now I'm extremely happy with my e90 325. I don't want to change that if you know what I mean.. PS. The moose you're referring to is the dead hookers.. Get rid of those and it will lighten up the M3 some..

Thats a not bad time at all. I got a 8.3 @ 86 mph at irwindale. 1.9 60 foot. 91 octane.
Its about right with the trap speed also, since TT makes about 40-50 wtq less than procede.
