DIY Guide to Remove Oxidation from BMW Headlights

If your BMW's headlights need a refresh, I created a step-by-step guide to bring them back to life. I've done this many times with great results and have tried all the kits out there. This is by far the best method that holds up over time. Just thought I'd share!

3M Headlight Restoration Kit: https://amzn.to/2IUptsU

3M Automotive Masking Tape: https://amzn.to/2W3wRWl

Automotive Glass Cleaner: https://amzn.to/2Dy4ZCP

32oz Spray Bottle: https://amzn.to/2Dy2LDt

Meguiar's Microfiber Towels: https://amzn.to/2L2GO5m

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax: https://amzn.to/2XGH3EH

Cordless Drill: https://amzn.to/2PtjDQs

If you've done this before, let me know your experience!

When you say "holds up over time" how much time are we talking about?

I ask because now you've removed the uv coating when you sanded the lens. If you don't reapply uv coating, the lights will yellow within a year to two based on what i been reading.

No clear coat applied, but I did apply a ceramic wax. I will re-apply every couple months. So far, no yellowing.

In theory, if the lenses are/were already yellow, the UV coating has burned off. I am not doing any further damage by sanding it down. However, like you said, you should re-apply some type of UV protection after cleaning the lenses. Either UV clear, ceramic coating, etc.

I did this yesterday and it is a night and day difference. The trick is to do it in the shade and keep the headlamp wet.

I'm now going to try this to protect it:
