MPPK - Code Out Burbles

Hi everyone,

I have a 2011 N55 335i with a manual and the M Performance Exhaust and M Perf Power Kit.

The previous owner installed both and I’ve enjoyed them both - but I gotta say. I drive in Chicago and there’s sooo many stop lights and stop signs, 75% of my driving is 50 yards forward where I go up to 2,000rpm.

The burbles with MPPK that become more pronounced with MPE are just annoying because they’re all. The. Time.

My question is - can I use a bootmod or MHD tune to change the RPM of the burbles? I know I can do that with an aftermarket tune but not sure if that works with OEM tune.

Thanks!

Checking back a few months later because I've seen conflicting things online.

It doesn't seem like MHD can code out or adjust the MPPK burbles - can anyone verify this?

Thanks!

It's interesting to hear the performance power kit gives more burbles because I've got a 2012 N55 manual with the MPE and only really get burbles at low speed in 1st(1500rpm or so when letting off & clutching in) and a decently loud pop when changing into 2nd at 2000rom.

I'm yet to see another N55 for sale in the UK with the MPE so am starting to think they're quite rare. I love the way it sounds

Pretty sure MHD can disable burbles, or turn them down. I haven't tried, but when flashing MHD to my car I leave the burble box unchecked so it defaults to factory (PPK) settings. Email MHD, they are usually responsive.
