Fuel duty............
goes up tomorrow (0.76p) followed by the VAT increase on Tuesday.
It might pay to fill up today to avoid the 3.5p ish increase on a ltr come the 4th. |

It's an easy target for the government to slap on more increases to fuel, as they seem to think that we just drive our cars and love to get stuck in traffic jams just for the fun of it

i remember cameron saying he would stop the persecution of the motorist and if fuel went up he would lower the tax by the same amount OUCH!! it will do more harm than good allowing fuel to rise at this rate.

And no doubt the supermarkets will put their prices up and put the rise down to the cost of fuel / getting the stuff on the shelves

Simples ! Fuel will continue to increase in price due to supply and demand .
It doesnt matter how much you moan it will keep increasing ,I noticed Diesel at £1.29.9 p on Thurs and it will be around £1.35 by the middle of next week ... Governments have no interest in reducing prices of fuel .I think in a sky documentry last week they said global use was 85m barrels a day and would increase to 100m in the next 10 yrs. |

its a Joke, really is.
But, unless someone comes us with Mr.Fusion, we all have no choice but to bend over and pay. Wonder when we will hit £1.50?

That tip would have been nicer in June when it was £14 a share and not £133 as they are now.
Do you see them going again?

I'd wager that most people would spend that on the extra journey to get to the pump. |

I guess a share price rise is dependent on Dominion Petroleum actually finding oil?

I've no idea regarding the mechanisms involved (if they exist) to reverse a budgetary decision but this was his great idea of always deferring things for several months hoping we'd forget about it |

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some form of fuel protest like there was in 2000.
Whilst I am a complete Tory Boy, I am still pissed off at the politicians who are completely and utterly out of touch with popular opinion. How many of the cabinet actually drive to a petrol station and fill up? I bet if challenged they would not have a f***ing clue as to the price of a litre of petrol/diesel. There is a massive financial black hole that needs addressing, and the majority of people appreciate this and will bear some pain and generally support the Govt but continually hitting the motorist in the bollocks (unjustifiably) will not win friends! I have emailed my MP to ask him, as my Westminster representative, at what price he considers fuel tax to be enough - I am anticipating a patronising response. |
