One question, I would have is I know there are a few who bought a down pipe with a DOC on it from Buzzken, any words on smell with a cat?

I have a factory DOC still in place, but no DPF. I can say that when you first start the car, yes you can smell it like any other diesel. When I come home and the DOC is at operating temperature, the smell is not worse that from a gasser. I am sure that at speed, 80-90% of the smell is gone, but I have not tried following myself One thing I do like about a DOC is that it also converts CO to CO2.

No, the DOC is within the DPF. A cat cleans hydrocarbons and CO. The SCR converts NOx to Nitrogen and H2O using ammonia. The ammonia is made from exposing urea to 300C.
I'm a little unclear if the cats being offered are diesel specific or just generic high flow cats. I would consider replacing my Ecotune DP with another DP with cat. |

Cuda and Yozh can you place the DOC after the dpipe further down the line of the exhaust somewhere around where the former SCR was?

We had that conversation with DFR and TDI a while back. We came to the conclusion that you needed exhaust gas to be pretty hot (>200C, perhaps 250C if I recall) to react and "light off" the chemical reaction. It would appear the cat should be built into the DP. I know someone that will do it and you do too.

These cats offered by buzz are just regular generic cats from a gasser, aren't they? Just for smell and smoke. They are not a DPF or SCR. Would they clog like a dpf would, with the increased fuel from stage 2.5?

I'm guessing your question is aimed at Buzz as I have no knowledge of his craft. |

That is if I can resist the urge to buy a Camaro ZL1. Very interesting car, and the 2017 version is going to be even better than the current version. Daughter already wants to trade hers, so we're not doing any more mods on that one. She'll get something new probably in a few months. |

ABC Delete questions
Hey guys, Just bought a 2011 335D. And was wondering if the ABC delete with a tune would pass emissions (I live in portland OR) and would make my car more reliable. I am currently throwing the P207F code. I tried cleaning out the DEF tanks with water to see if it was a level sensor in the tank that was covered with urea crystals (because the guy I bought the car from said that was the problem). But it seems that wasn't it. So I assume it must be the SCR, so instead of taking it in and paying for something that's just going in break again, I would much rather go with a ABC delete and a tune. I heard JR Auto makes good tunes. But like i said before I have no idea if their tune would pass emissions testing. If you guys have any input on parts for the ABC delete and any other recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 2011 335d and live in Portland, OR as well and I am obviously in the same pool since these cars all get strangled by the scr. I'm currently getting fault codes p20ee, p2062, p2063 and p2064. All to do with the scr metering valve. Car had the def tanks replaced under warranty. At almost 140k miles that warranty is bye bye; however, BMWNA does unlimited warranty for NoX sensors but since we are talking about deletes then that is pretty irrelevant unless you want to keep the diesel "clean" lol. |

Coming up on 3 years/~20k miles of trouble-free driving on the JR 2.x tune. Car's been averaging 35mpg in mixed driving and consistently ran mid 13s on street tires fighting traction control 200' off the line at the High Plains Diesel Shootout last month. I just hold my breath every year when the registration renewal shows up, hoping it still says "Emissions Test Not Required."
