E91 - Xtrons head unit Q & Speaker

Hi Guys,

I have just bought an Xtrons PQ7090B for my LCI E91.

When I open a door it shows the opposite one, how do I change this?

Is it the yellow wire that goes to the battery live and do all 3 USB's do the same job?

Last Q, what speakers can I get for the front doors, nothing fancy but an upgrade with tweeters that are an easy-ish fit, I don't want to do a full install and I don't currently have front tweets.

Thanks for your help

I went with some Pioneer TS-G1020F Coaxial speakers. There are better options out there if you really care. But if your stock audio is like mine with no dedicated Amp, these or similar are perfect. Easy to fit, the tweeter is on top of the woofer and they are far better than the stock speakers.

If you wanna go down the route of full audio setup with amp and subs etc, there are plenty of threads on the forum for audio needs.

I don't want a full audio set up, just some better front speakers is all.

I'll look your ones up. Thanks

They come with the adapters for even easier fitting to OEM screw holes. I'm not sure how well they will screw on without the adapters.

I cut the OEM connector and soldered those wires straight to the pioneer wires but if you want to avoid that, think you can buy an adapter that will plug into OEM connector and onto the speakers.

something like that

Hello, I have just installed the exact same stereo in my E91 also. I would HIGHLY recommend rooting it so that you can install Viper4android on it. The sound is considerably better, it was crap in mine beforehand. If you need any help I can point you in the right direction.

And with regards to the wrong door displaying on the screen, you can change it in the factory settings I believe. The code is 126.

Thanks mate, sorry for my delayed reply.

I wouldn't have any idea how to root it, I've only used it a few times and it seems a bit complex to use, and I still need to run the positive wire to the battery.

If you can help I'd be grateful. Thanks

You need to get into advanced settings and enter code 126.
In there you can change the canbus settings and swap the door opening over.

Also you can change the setting to save last setting in memory, that means you dont need to connect the yellow wire.

If you dont fancy that, the yellow wire goes to the battery or live fuse. I used fuse 2 when I used mine, now removed and going up for sale.

If you go down the custom rom, I recommend the paid version of the malaysk rom.

Like the guy above said, you don't need a constant 12v. It won't stay on without the ignition on but it will never forget your settings.

As for rooting it the simplest way by far is the malaysk rom, you can load it on to an SD card and install it from there. The lite version is free, from then you can install Viper4android which, in my opinion, is essential for the sound quality.

I definitely don't need to run the yellow to the live.?

How exactly do I change the settings you mention please.

I have been in to 126 and reversed the door opening, but my clock is still always wrong and changes the cars clock too and I lose radio memory.

Thanks for the help guys

Just put the yellow wire to the battery or live fuse.
I used fuse 2 when I used mine

Just to make life easier for you.

How is your radio reception ?
As you might need to connect your pin 13 to the remote wire.
I will walk you through that if needed.

Legend thanks mate, I'm back on shift tomorrow so won't be able to for a week but I'll start with the yellow first.

Radio reception on test day was awesome, as soon as I'm driving it barely picks anything up.

yea thats the problem, Pin 13 is for the antenna, it needs to be turned on.

Scotchlok cable to the back of pin 13 on your cars quadlock connection and connect it to the remote cable on your xtrons harness
