So here's my amp and sub setup. My car is an e92. The sub control is under the front dash on the driver side.

Sub is the coveted JL W6 10".

Box was custom built and install done at Custom Sounds in San Antonio.

Everything else is stock...and it sounds AMAZING. I lost virtually no trunk space. Even with the emergency tire and tool kit in there, I still have plenty of room.

Amp is an Exile 600.1 Monoblock
- 600W x 1 @ 1 ohm (mono)
- 12.375"L x 11.125"W x 2.625"H
- Class D high efficiency design
- Stable down to 1 ohm
- 24dB crossover
- Subsonic filtering
- 8 gauge power and ground connectors
- Fuse size: 50A
- Remote bass control compatible

Two JL 10W6v2s pushed by a RF T1500.1bd at 1 Ohm. Sorry that you can't see the subs, but they fire forward through the skisack.

A lot of pretty cool setups here. Gotta love thorshammers' for its simplicity. I am thinking about going the same route, but i kinda want something with more power. Thorshammer, how much did the total install plus parts cost you? Any ideas if its possible to fit something like a rockford fosgate t2 12" with a bigger amp in the same spot you have yours???

something like Thors set up would be good enough for me, I'm going to upgrade the cabin speakers too. I want to keep as much room as I can in the trunk never know when you have to carry a dead adult.

Sub: $260
Amp: $300
Amp Kit: $50
Custom Box (Molded Fiberglass back, MDF Front): $150
Installation: $150 (including a sub control mounted under the dash)
Sub Grille: Normally $40, but they threw it in for free.

Total Price: $910

It seems like a lot, but I have to tell you, this is my favorite mod to date. I got to keep all of my trunk space, everything is hidden, and it looks OEM. But the sound...oh goodness. It's perfect. For daily driving, just listening to regular music, everything sounds fuller and richer. And when I want to jam? Wow. I crank the factory stereo, and the bass is perfect. I can feel it as much as I can hear it, but it's not like it's going to shake my OEM lip off. LOL I'm not trying to win any competitions, I just want a really really good stereo. Oh, and if you have iDrive that plays DVD's? OMG. Turn on Logic 7 and holy crap. It sounds like you're sitting in the best movie theater around.

For under a grand, I now have a stereo system that looks OEM, but sounds every bit as good as a $4k make-over/upgrade.
