Revshift Solid Rear Subframe "Bushings"

The rear of my car has been wiggly lately, so I got under it to check it out. I was thinking it was the lower shock mounts, but it looks like its my subframe bushings that are cooked, they're cracked and nasty and need replacement.

I came across the revshift rear subframe kit--https://revshift.com/products/billet-aluminum-subframe-bushings-bmw-e9x-e8x

I've been wanting to do a solid mounting kit for a while, but I've been put off by the writeups I've read comparing it to childbirth in reverse. I like that the "bushings" on this kit are in two pieces, it seems like it would make them easier to install. This will be done in a driveway on jackstands, so easier is better for sure.

Anyone installed these yet? Were they still awful to do?

That's intriguing. I went with the white line two piece poly bushings, but had I been aware of these I would have gone this route instead. Because they're two pieces with flanges I imagine you would be able to rig up a threaded rod and heavy duty washers to mechanically press them in without completely removing the subframe. You could probably accomplish it fairly easily using one of the bushing removal tools on eBay. I bought this one last year when I did my bushings, and I think it would work great for pressing those two piece solid mounts in.

I installed these on my car. Pressing them in is easy. A threaded rod, nut, and some washers is what I used, it was easy. I also threw them in the freezer the day before installing them.

Awesome, that's great news. I think I'll give them a shot, I'll update when I've got them installed.

Nope. I bought them and they're sitting in my closet, I just haven't had time. I've got a whole stack of deferred maintenance on my poor Bimmer unfortunately.
