Hi. I apologize if this has been asked before. Can’t seem to find any answers regarding this exact sound.
I’ve had the car for about 2 years. FBO with MHD Stage 2+. Car runs perfectly fine, makes boost up to 1.4 bar (~20psi) consistently. But every time it goes above 0.8 bar (~11psi), it makes this weird howling noise. On the stock map it doesn’t have the sound, but probably cause the boost isn’t high. No codes, no smoke coming out, no boost leaks even checked with a smoke tester. I do have the wastegate rattle but doesn’t cause any issues. Car is at 180k km (110k miles), so not sure if the turbos have been replaced but ever since I got the car the howling has always been there. Doesn’t cause problems but just concerned as its really loud. Sounds EXACTLY like in this video, like a screaming intake, from 04:05. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2CpgXfloSOE Any help is appreciated. |
