exact same wheel i had on my e46 330d,,9jx8jthough and 18minch,,the polished lip helps as curbing is minimalised ,,well more invisible,,also can sand it down and repolish..twat to clean though,,the brake dust settles in the corners

Thanks for all the comments guys. It’s a great car and I’ll be sad to see it go, but with an M4 coming and a 911 in the garage as a weekend toy I can’t keep it.

Rasa BMW - You’re spot on about the wheels, the removable rims on them are great and saved me from a full refurb when I just lightly caught a wheel on a kerb. Just removed and replaced the chrome rim and its back to looking brand new again. Great idea.

They are a little fiddly to clean but with a white car I tend to clean it weekly anyway so dust never builds up too bad on them.

Biggest upside is that they have no issues with cracking like the previous 313’s which I seemed to constantly have issues with.

are?they are a ring fitted to the wheel..mine were a polished lip and part of the wheel,,,ie just not painted/polished alloy..ive got some jr 20 wheels to go on my 335d and was thinking of some extra protection as my wheels are 8.5jx9.5j and will be fitting stock spec size tyres,,so lip of wheel will be poking outa little

Yes the CH-R’s have a self adhesive polished lip inserted into a slight channel, that way its easily replaced if kerbed. Not sure if it would be possible to use the replacement lips on other wheels as the CH-Rs seem to have been specifically designed for them.
