I only know for sure because I went through the same thing, really doubted myself.

Nice. Just read through your old post. Yeah, that is a deceiving little contour. Front has already seemed to settle a bit more after some more driving. My commute to work is only 4.5mi and I carpool a lot. Thanks again for the heads up on that!

Partially done and wow - what an improvement!

My car is '11 335ix sedan with 6 spd and Dinan s/w - plenty of go, but was feeling like BMW meant "Buick Mega Wallow" when I was on the highway.

Step 1 - ditch the run flats & installed Michelin PSS's - huge improvement!!

Step 2 - installed Koni's sport shocks & struts for xi

Step 3 (in process) - installed front Eibach sport springs (for base 335 RWD) and front UUC swaybar for xi.

Finally - fantastic ride quality!! Car has more athletic handling much improved over bumps and lousy NE roads.

Going to bring it to Turner Motorsports to install rear swaybar (need to drop whole rear subframe & I just did that job on my M3 and didn't want to get into it on this car) and rear springs.

Excited to get this finished up and so far, couldn't be happier with the results!

Will update after work is completed & I get more miles on her.

Conclusion

Setup: Koni's sport shocks & struts (xi), Eibach sport springs (i) & UUC swaybars (xi) with PSS tires

First - wow, this is how car should have come, must better turn-in, huge improvement over bumps & now car feels great over 70 MPH. Criminal at 60 K miles I am changing suspension!!

Would I do it again?

Shocks & tires absolutely!!

Springs - probably...

Swaybars - no. They are great, but true cost includes $600 to install as rear subframe has to be dropped along w/exhaust. Better - Yes! $1,000 better? Not so much... $500 better (if you DIY), only if you are enthusiast.

Update 5 months later

Still love Koni's shocks & Michelin PSS tires

Sway bars are great - definitely flatter cornering, friend with 328 convertible commented how much flatter my car was going through corners.

Springs are too low for me - with people in the car, not a lot of ground clearance... decided to pull the springs and go back to stock springs.

If you live in area with smooth roads - nice setup. If you have to negotiate speed bumps and roads with potholes - too low.

Dinan springs are about as low as I'd want to go on this platform. Just not enough travel with the stock strut configuration.

How much drop are getting with Dinan springs?

Im planning on upgrading my suspension in the spring, and pretty much set on eBach spring, but would like to see how other setups are as well.

Thank you

Get the European Eibach Pro kit for your car. The drop is on average 1.33 front, 1.25 rear from the OE X drive height. It puts the car right about where coupe is with sport suspension.

Even on the wagon hauling a ton of crap, it's never been an issue, and as I've mentioned in other posts, I go to Mt. Baker all the time where we have the highest annual snowfall in North America. Bottoming out with 2 adults & two kids, with all our ski gear is no issue.

These match well to the FSD's if you want a modern damper over old school monotube.

I have a 328i with sport suspension, so my main concern is to get an even drop. I had Eibachs on my e46 330i and I really like them. I was thinking about combining them with koni sport shocks (yellow) since they are adjustable.
Whats the difference between regular Eibachs and european version? Last time I ordered them on amazon lol. Also, where can I buy the euro version?

Thank you

Struts will make no difference, it's the springs that determine the ride height, unless you're on coilovers.

Can't help you with the sedan pics, but I have them on my e91. Perfect, no issues, even in deep snow

Can't really tell with the pic it's not a side profile pic. Is there any reverse rake

No, the nose is 4mm lower than the tail. Measured at the chassis, not the fender, the front fenders on the e90 are higher to accommodate the turning wheel.

Need you guys advise.

I have ordered the Koni FSD for my e92 335xi to improve the ride quality after making the mistake of putting cheap coilovers which destroyed the original geometry and finding out north pole is not a place for lowered car

The goal is confort but i would like to have a slight drop with the dinan sport spring (xi version) about 1/2 inch.

was wondering if anyone had bad experiance with the mix.

koni FSD are ment for stock springs and Dinan springs are ment for Stock struts ? any conflict

thanks

What cheap coilovers did you put on the car ? Why go with fsd instead of bilstein sports ?
