Typical KW lead time?

Hey guys,

I ordered KW street comforts on July 25th and they've still not shipped. I've gotten 4 or 5 updates each time I ask, but those dates always come and go with nothing. I told them I'm willing to wait 3 more weeks and like usual they said they're shipping this week but I genuinely doubt it. I ordered from a reputable site that has good reviews but not a sponsor on this forum.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

reach out to KW directly. They should be able to see what orders that Vendor has in with them. They should also be bale to give you a more accurate time-frame. Your vendor of choice is just relaying to you whatever KW is saying anyway.

yes, lead times are excessively delayed right now. I wait almost 2 months for ohlins. 3 months for a wavetrac diff.

I'm definitely not a Karen and I'm pretty patient but I'm becoming very frustrated with KW and am thinking about cancelling my order. I'm convinced the vendor I bought from is giving me the runaround as they'll always respond saying they're shipping the same week (often the date the give me is a weekend) with no explanation or anything.

I reached out to KW themselves and they didn't reply at all. I gave them nearly 10 days with no reply so I reached out on Instagram. They replied asking me one question at a time about one day apart who I bought from, where I'm located, what my name is, etc. and at the end of wasting 5 days or so with all the questions they simply said to email customer service. I told them I did and they said "well they're at SEMA so you need to be patient."

I waited another week and reached out again letting them know I've not heard a word. They read it and didn't reply. Reached out via email again and still nothing. The vendor sent me some BS that KW sent them saying they have one in stock that could be used to fill this order but it won't ship out for about another 45 days. Wtf?

I've heard bad things about their customer service before but usually only for warranty claims and it seemed like if people reached out to KW in Germany they got an answer quickly. I chose the street comforts because they fit the bill perfectly and are cheaper and have better clearance than Ohlins but I'm about a week away from just saying screw it and getting my YCW's revalved.

My KW V1s had a very long lead time (2.5 months) as it seems they had to be sent from their HQ/warehouse in germany, but they were very transparent. I ordered from them directly. Cant comment on why yours are taking so long though.

Do you have a part number? Per KW they do not offer street comfort for your car.

KW definitely makes a street comfort for the e90 as there are people on the forums running them but if they're discontinued then I'm definitely getting the runaround. I'll reach out to KW about that too, thanks for bringing that to my attention

Suspensions lengthy lead is not uncommon, unfortunately. Very few dealers keep them in stock.

The issue with OP is that KW no longer show this part as available

Yep, I think I'm gonna cancel. Since they've been lying about it, I don't mind saying who the vendor is now. It's MBenzGram. They keep telling me that the message with the ship date is direct from KW and KW is responsible for the ship dates. I reached out to KW and they said they don't even sell to MBenzGram and that they must be buying from a U.S. distributor. MBenz confirmed but refuses to answer any emails asking for an explanation of why they've continued to make up dates and none of their supposed correspondence from KW was actually from them. I'm gonna give them til tomorrow to refund then I'm charging it back.

May go the Ohlins road & track route but don't like that they're already pricier than the KW's then to get a properly matched set up I've still got to get rear springs since the rates are way off.

May just have my YCW's revalved. I like the YCW's but they are VERY stiff.

I sent KW an email and they said they've got one in stock. Ordered today and tracking shows it's already been picked up. MBenzgram sucks lol!

They had the best price and a quick search pulled up some people on reddit and on a Mustang forum who had nothing but good things to say. My experience was the polar opposite.

Had to send about 15 emails and call multiple times throughout a 5 day period to get a refund. No indication that I was ever going to get my coils despite them saying they were receiving messages straigth from KW and KW said they've never heard of them.

I would avoid MBgram--not because of the wait time, but because of the dishonesty.
