i checked my connector and i have the small pin on pin7. so im assuming the seat was in a car after 3/2007. my car was produced 3/2006. I wonder if this is going to cause an issue, i have to take the seat out and check the connector that is attached to the car to see what wiring it has connected to the harness. hopefully i can get to that tomorrow. thankfully the bolsters are in a good position and the seat is comfortable, but the lumbar is deflated and not so much comfortable at the moment, defiantly want to get that going again. i checked and i do not have the heated seats . my original seats have them and ill prob retrofit those before the winter. i really appreciate your help and this topic is defiantly a huge help. |

Normally you should be ok with PIN4 to PIN9 and PIN8 to PIN13. Anyway, look at your connector and diagrams before and you will see. The color codes are written in the diagrams.
Sorry, I can't tell you more as I don't see the items. |

" Hope this helps someone else. |

My car has non-heated, non electric adjustable standard seats (only cables on pin 14-19)
I have found a sportseat with heating and adjustable + memory. I have: 1) put 12v + on pin 4 + 9 2) put ground on pin 8 + 13 The electric adjustment works for like 30 sec after I put the battery cables on. The side adjustment always work. Do I need to put CAN_L and CAN_H to get the electrical adjustment to work? At the moment the priority is to get the adjustment to work. Secondary is memory, and on third prio the seat heating (I don't even have the control buttons yet..) Seems like the seat module blocks the adjustment in some way..? regards Tobias |

Can someone post a picture of where they've found the K_CAN bus wire(s) and possibly how they've wired it?
I am not sure where would be the easiest place to reach from the passenger seat. (The M3 seats I got seem to have pins 2 / 3 just like the driver side, so it looks like that also needs the K_CAN connection as well) Thanks, |

Hi guys,
I recently retrofitted my seats from half electric to comfort seats. I got 3 errors on the dash, 2 of them are about head restraint pretensioners, old seats did not have them, so I had to run wires from drivers and passenger seats to B-pillar. the third error is restraint system, and it says "resistance too low". I have used 16 amp wires instead of 5 amp, I am not sure if that could cause the difference. there are two corners I cut: first one is K_bus wire (#2 in yellow connector), I connected the wire to center console DSC switch instead running wire to the module behind the fuse box in glows compartment which is anyway connected to the DSC switch. second shortcut, I run red/green wire (#3 in yellow connector) to the continuous 12V supply from seat supply wire (red 30 amps fuse). By the WDS it should go to relay in the boot connected to 5 amp fuse. Relay supply continuous 12V too but only when the car is awake, when it goes to sleep mode it cut off. now both seats actuators, lumbars and side bolsters and memory works fine, only I got 3 errors where one of them is in red. can anybody help please? you can see some pictures of driver seat connected on below link, just to see if I am missing something: https://picasaweb.google.com/jozef.m...IDoluHLuLnYiQE many thanks for help |

If anyone has the information, I'd be interested in knowing what I need to do complete a retrofit for seat heaters in my car. It's a 2006 BMW 325i Sedan Automatic w/iDrive, and I appear to have non-sport powered leather seats with memory. I'm new here, but I think my car is also "pre-LCI" from what I gather from other posts here. If you can help me, please post your thoughts here or send me a PM.

Almost there
Hi all,
I have an E92 that had standard seats. Electric hieght/tilt adjustment only. Recently picked up sports seats with memory/heat/inflatable bolsters/electric movement. I cut the harness from the donor car so that I could see what was needed for the "new" seats. Currently my seats new seats have everything (heat/movement/memory) working but the side bolsters are not working. Is it possible this is a coding issue or is this more likely to be a problem with the way I have wired the harnesses?? I find it strange that it is the same for both seats Any help is greatly appreciated as always |

It is most likely an wiring issue.
The side bolsters just need +12V and Ground for the pump. The side bolsters have nothing to do with coding. Check your wiring. I guess your problem is easy to fix.

No I didn't jump them, two fresh connections were used. It was installed by a car electronics specialist and he thought it might need coding.might just jump them tomorrow myself

Does anyone know how to reset the power to the seats? I purchased full power sport seats and put them in my 06' e90 which had non power non sport. The main power worked just fine on driver when installed and havent touched it for a month and have decided to take them out and sell separate from my car which is for sale. Now there is no power at all, I have checked all related fuses, unhooked battery and hooked back and unplugged seats. So if any knows please let me know how to reset. Thanks
