P0012 and P0303

good morning, all!

So I've got a 2006 325xi with 190k miles. The other day, on a cold start (in garage, but 32 degrees), it ran really roughly, vibrating. Drove about a mile, called it, went back home.

Pulled codes P0012 and P0303, camshaft sensor and cylinder 3 misfire.

Much google research.

Took out the VANOS solenoids, they looked ok, not gummy. Cleaned with brake cleaner anyway, and sprayed out with compressed air. Back in. Same codes, same misfiring.

Trying to figure out my next move, before I replace a whole bunch of stuff in search of the solution. Was thinking I'd swap ignition coils to see if the cylinder misfire moves with the coil pack, BUT would that address the cam error? Or do I replace the camshaft sensors, and if so, would that address the specific cylinder misfire?

Thoughts?

thanks!
