Exclamation *Warning* Do not buy vendor eNBT Evo Kits

I no longer provide commercial BMW retrofits so this is no longer a conflict of interest for me to post.

Ever since I figured it out and put in a NBT Evo in my old E90 I have gotten emails and messages from four people who have recently purchased eNBT Evo kits from one particular vendor from Canada. These emailed always start with "I wired this vendor a bunch of money and my kit is not fully functional or does not work at all. All the technical support does is blame me for everything and now they won't respond."

The eNBT is a complex retrofit but It is very possible to create a pre-coded, complete kit for a E series vehicle. I personally did this twice for two friends (Do not email me asking for eNBT kits). This vendor's kits are frequently missing parts such as a F series Harman Becker Logic 7 Amp for logic 7 or individual audio cars, new faceplates with ground straps soldered onto them and NBT displays without a E series display housing mounted to them.

If you want a NBT Evo in your E series car the only way to have it done properly is to do it yourself. Just prepare to spend up to $3,000 USD. Do not wire some shady vendor thousands of dollars were once the money is out of your account your money is gone. A reputable vendor would take PayPal or at least a credit card where you have some sort of recourse if they try to pull crap like this.

If you just want Apple Carplay in your car go and buy a $230 Chinese wireless CarPlay box if you have a CIC.

Thumbs down Stay away from BIMMERRETROFIT Inc. Canada

I wouldn't even hesitate to take the Canadian suppliers name..it's Bimmerretrofit, marketed online by a lady called Kate, supported by a technical guy who also appears to be the owner. And I am one of the 'fools' who got fooled by these guys. Long story short (shorter)-
I tried to purchase the best possible complete nbt evo retrofit ready in every way, to put in my 2011 bmw x1 e84 car replacing my factory CiC. I paid a premium to these guys including the ONLY dhl shipping method they provide, claiming no other cheaper option available with them. After paying for all this and waiting for a month + for them to source the whole kit and then code it to match my car and load the Indian maps I asked for, these guys come back to me saying shipping prices had now increased and wanted me to pay extra for the same. During the wire transfer for the kit, somehow they recvd 30bucks lesser due all the banks in between. They didn't even spare me those 30 bucks and didn't send me the kit till I paid those 30 too. So next time ensured while sending them the money to pay them an extra lest be bothered again by their ransom calls. all done in good faith and trust which I had on these bastards. Finally what I get is -evo screen without even a plastic cover/holder, retrofit adapter which doesn't even have the can wires twisted, idrive controller but no module- although wires provided for both. No faceplates ,no installation tools, trims etc..NOTHING. Iwas expected to be drilling holes in my car , sticking trims to make way for their kit. The installn manual I recvd was a generic Chinese to English translated crap which talks about a lot of things that really needn't be done and no mention of which plugs to be connected from the exisiting CIC unit to the evo HU. Anyways, On installing the kit the first time, everything powered up well for about 10 mins.I realise the wrong Nav maps had been put up in the evo. Before I could chekc the rest of its features, everything in my instrument panel starts fluctuating, electronics failure pops up on the evo screen and the screen itself starts to go on and off every 2/3 mins..the frequency of all this started to increase over the next 30mins before I plugged it out of my car. On confronting Bimmerretrofit, they reply back saying the installation was done wrongly and was supposed to be Only done by a specialist. While they never provided any specific manual, their only available youtube video online for the installation, talks about only terminating the MOST cable of the combox before installing( which was done by me) but BR guys later claimed that the whole combox should have been
completely disconnectedd ( never mentioned this anywhere in their generic manuals orbtheir you tube video) . They tried to pass the blame on me,denying me the warranty, while infact they didn't even bother to read my email to them initially where in I had provided them my request for Indian Nav Maps and the car VIN. It's their faulty HU/ retrofit adapter which they didn't even bother to code properly to match my car which led to all the problems in my car including eventually blowing off my car's FRM as a result of their faulty kit. Such crooks are these guys that after all this, they still keep passing the blame on me for a wrong installation. now they want me to send them back the kit and they would recode/unlock the kit and send me back all for a high charge and also paying up for the shippings and customs everything.. These guys have no Shame, no sense of integrity, no values.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CHEATS

Honestly i'm not surprised, this is why I stayed away from vendors when it came to a retrofit like this.. I'm still trying to compile a full DIY parts list of everything I need to retrofit an NBT EVO into my E92 because i'm getting sick of the CIC (I put one of those china carplay boxes)

When I was watching some of the pre-made NBT EVO retrofit videos on youtube, one video I noticed the retrofit harness didn't have anything for the OABR connector on the head unit, don't you need to wire OABR to the OBD to get coding functionality?

Back in 2019 I got quoted $2100 for a NBT EVO retrofit by a vendor (which looked very half-assed by the way)
