What about late model N52s, surely it's not only the N51 that is exempt from this issue? I wonder what they did to remedy it, possibly different lifter design? N51 and N52 are nearly the same engine.

N52 engines produced after 12/2008 have a different head design. I know for one thing the cam ledge seals are different.

redesigned parts that don't let the lifters bleed oil pressure as easily.
it's all listed in the TSB, with part numbers.

That’s possible...if he had an n54 he might be surprised that the fuel injecors make it sound like a diesel...I know I was the first time I started it...
