Loud THUD/CLUNK when returning to idle from low rpms

This is hard to explain so I’ll do my best. Automatic transmission/2009/335i xdrive/188k Miles.
When I’m barely stepping on the gas and let go like in stop and go traffic for example, there will be an audible thud that seems to come from underneath you. You can feel it too. It’s also present if I’m driving very slowly like in a parking lot under light throttle it will continuously go thud thud thud. When returning to idle from anything over 5mph this is not present. It seems to be getting progressively worse. PLS SEND HELP.

Check driveshafts for loose / worn joints, or front / rear CV joints at wheels for torn boots and excessive play.

Since you're x-drive, check the front driveshaft (transfer case to front diff). The u-joint is apparently a common failure point.
