To each his/her own. I once heard a SA tell this hot blonde that she needed a new driver side floor mat for her X5 but told her it's better to buy the whole set including the one for the rear cargo rather then just replace one. She said OK. Last edited by LKNGOOD; 03-16-2010 at 09:29 PM.. |

Ok - thanks OP for the instructions. I just completed this mod and man does it look NICE
Everything was straight forward - took my time and did everything by the book. Drilling through the metal brake pedal was no big deal - took my time and went slowly. Toughest part was determining how much to cut off the screw on the top of the gas pedal because it did touch the back if I left it at the stock length. I just took a big pair of plier and cut about 1/4 off the screw and perfect - no problems. Definitely would not pay someone $100 to do this for you unless an hour of your time is worth more then $100 spent. It's basically drilling holes and putting screws and nuts together. |

i just did this on my car right now. but i got the aluminum pedal set from bimmian. install on the brake clutch and footrest went fine but they gave me stupid long screws with the nuts for the gas pedal similar to the ones used for the brake and clutch. thinking about going down to home depot tomorrow to get some shorter set screws for the gas pedal. any idea as to how long they should be?

Very nice write up. I just installed these CFs on my 08. I did cut the top two hex bolts shorter and attached.

Just did a matte black grill and aluminum pedals on my E90. Total time=1.5 hours. Without the DIY posts here, total time=6 hours (3 hours of itching my ass trying to figure it out).
Thanks to them that have posted and them that will post. |

I have designed, built and have been testing numerous versions of an all-aluminum billet and 6061 clutch pedal kit for all E90/91/92, 1-Series and all F-cars.
I've been racing with it in our 135i and the E90 M3 since March and have finalized on the design and have started building them. The pedal lowers the resting height of the pedal and are "short throw". The bronze bushing, eliminates all flex in the clutch pedal system - it is basically an awesome racing part that's perfect for any sporty-driven modern manual BMW. The over-center spring location adjustable by the user for perfect feel. The pedal kit will be carried by Turnermotorsports, Bimmerworld, European Auto Source, TC Kline and Achilles Motorsports along with a couple tuners in Europe. They have all received a production version of the pedal for final testing, fitment confirmation, pictures, etc. Keep an eye out on their web sites for their introduction of the pedal kit - probably late September 2013. It should be aprox. $300 and avail in black anodize to start. Pursuant to this thread... it is compatible with after-market pedal pad covers. -Ralph Warren (Irvine, CA) |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this write up really helped. Given that it's now over 10 years since the original post, some may not know that the accelerator pedal now comes with a backing of 2-way tape, making it much easier to install.
My tip would be to make sure your careful when installing the brake pedal- I cut myself on a rough edge from drilling and needed to file it down. Finally, if you're new to doing things yourself, this is a good place to start. One dealer quoted $250 for the install. Another simply said no they don't do that.
