The only point of contact is the top and bottom of the spoiler. The top of the spoiler should have double sided tape, so do I put the glue on the bottom of the spoiler (the side facing the bottom of the car) and the sides?
its exactly like mine... look at the photo where I was apply the glue. The center area has a small recessed canal that doesn't touch the car. Thats where I applied the betalink glue. I kept the glue away from the edges to keep it from squezing out when I apply the full spoiler to the car.

as a very important note, have someone help you guide and position the spoiler on the car, because once it touches the car, its like magnet, hard to pull off.

Good luck and take your time to do a good prep job

does using betalink allow you to remove the spoiler afterwards? (i don't think so?)

I've seen other members use some sort of double sided tape (i.e. 3M). Does anyone have any experience with using such tape?

instructions very confusing...i rather just use the 3m tape....even if someone tries to steal the spoiler , at least it won't damage my trunk as much

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I wanted to pass a big thank you to the OP, this DIY helped me greatly in successfully installing the spoiler on my F30. I added a couple of my own touches, but for the most part, I followed the posted instructions.

Hey Guys just installed my spoiler today. I used 3M double tape extreme (20lbs).
No extra tools was involved, trunk and spoiler now is one solid part. installation Tips: leave your car and spoiler at the sun to make it more flexible and fast sticking to each other.

i hope this info will help, if you wanna save some money on installation.
