335is comes with the Dual Clutch tranny. Sedans only get the Steptronic.

Gotcha. Good reason... I guess. Not to mention cannibalizing sales of actual 335is'.

Here are a few pics of my car. I may go back to the stock grills but in the mean time I modded the stock grills in the truck and the all black grill that came with the performance package. Now I have IS grills. lol
Looks great! Can you tell me about the brake on that car? Since it is Performance Edition, I think the brake kit is a bit different. If I'm right, please post the pictures!! THX

So 700 dollars for part and install? Would this also apply to a 135i?

700 is a amazing price if it includes installation.

Cool stuff. Badge does look cheesy. Reminds me of the embedded badge on interior trim of 335is. At least you can take this one off easily.

Can this package be retrofitted onto a 2008 335i sedan? I have the sports package already.

BMW's new-ish "preachy green" engineering philosophy promotes the use of environmentally friendly water-based paint. Compared to the paints of yesteryear, these take longer to cure (90 days after dry) and are much softer as a result. The idea is that if you can make it through the curing period without damaging or chipping your paint, it should last longer overall, and be cheaper when it comes to respraying sheetmetal after getting bodywork done. The paint also retains its original color for longer. But I doubt many BMW owners care that much about the "greenness" of their paint.

The factories should offer the enviro-friendly paint option along with the regular chemical-based paint; the water-based paint would come with a tax credit equal to the value of the metallic color ($550).

Some people want their paint hard, I'm one of them. I picked up my new X3 in August and took to the interstate just that weekend; to my surprise, they were doing roadwork and hadn't coned off the tar covered lanes at all, so everyone was driving on them as if they were dry. I heard a dull "thwap" at one point and then I stopped at a rest station. A small piece of tar had been kicked up by someone's tires and was stuck on the D pillar. It's still there. No, it won't go away.

OH, and the bugs are now also cured into the paint. YAY.

AND I have Black Sapphire Metallic. Moments like these when I wish I'd ordered Space Grey.

Just got mine installed last week on my 2008 335 (June 2008 build). Paid $712 out the door. Its a nice upgrade, I am enjoying it.
