Im placing another order. I was going to just order some more s.i.p. but I have been wanting to try power finish for a while... Is it worth ordering them both or should I just stick with the s.i.p.? Curious as to how good it actually works and if you really can just skip the 106 step.

Yes, it's ABSOLUTELY worth it. It will cut your polishing time down by a third at least and give the same, if not better, results.

I love Power Finish. Work it properly and it will finish like Micro Finish PO85rd

Pretty much you could use a white polishing pad with Power Finish and you can cut and finish all in one step. I still personally like adding a jewelling step to bmw's. The clearcoats aren't the hardest. In any case power finish is essential in my arsenal. SIP has taken a back seat. I'm mainly using Power Gloss, Power Finish and P085rd with a combination of pads. Sometimes I may have to pull out SIP just to add another step before power finish but I seldom have to.

WIll using power finish with a 5.5" green pad on a PC 7424XP give me enough cut to correct medium swirls and some small scratches on a lexus clearcoat?

I was planning on only using the P085RD on my TiAg BMW with minimal (visible) swirls.

What color Lexus? Depending on that, you will probably need something a bit more aggressive for medium swirls/scratches.

I wouldn't recommend doing a 1-step with PO85RD on a daily driver. It's strictly a jeweling polish. If you have very light blemishes, hit the E90 with PO203S and a green pad. With TiAg, that should be all you need to do. PO203S finishes down very nicely and works great as 1-step, especially with lighter color cars. Following up with PO85RD on a black pad wouldn't hurt though, up to you.

Thanks. The Lexus is Flint Grey Metallic. My goal is not to get a 100% correction, but make it look a lot nicer prior to using Jetseal for the winter. It unfortunately gets parked outside.

I just used P203S on my Black Saph with a green pad. Very impressed. Probably in the spring time I'd try an orange pad. The green didn't didn't get everything out in terms of scratches.

Other than that it's a great all in one polish. Finishes real nice!

For the "maintenance polishing" you might also try the Menzerna APO wax. It'll remove the finer scratches & clean the paint surface without deep polishing. Great if you want to strip sealant or wax & start fresh.

I took advantage of one of the last semi-warm days here in Michigan and detailed my car yesterday. Washed>Clayed>P0203S w/Green>Jet Seal 109 w/Blue>Zymol Carbon. Car turned out amazing- I've never seen it like this. I can't take pics b/c someone's borrowing my camera, but point is, I highly recommend P0203S on PC.

Power Finish (PO203S) - (M) this is a one-step scratch remover polish is formulated for CeramiClear or other ‘Hard’ paints. It will remove 2500 grit, cut 3.0-gloss 3.5, is formulated as a quick way to polish out light flaws and amplify the paint’s gloss.

With a single step polish once you see it has just started to break-down, either clean your pad or replace it with a fresh one and then continue at the same RPM you left off at, break-down the rest of the polish, and then continue to burnish the paint surface. After a wipe-down process it can be followed with Nano Polish (PO85RD 3.01) using a black pad for lighter imperfections, or for burnishing the surface for even more depth and gloss.
While technically a final or finishing polish in the same category as PO106FA, PO203S Power Finish offers substantially more cutting power, In fact, it is just below Menzerna PO83 Super Intensive Polish in its ability to remove moderate to mild swirls, water spots, and light scratches, and then it burnishes the paint to an ultra high gloss.

Try the LC Orange pad with Menz Power Finish 203S first and if that doesn’t rectify the problem proceed to Menz Power Gloss on LC Orange foam and then clean up with Menz Power Finish on LC White foam.

PO203S finishes down LSP ready on light colours but would suggest PO85RD is needed on dark colours.

Well, I spent 8 hours yesterday taking care of the lexus for my wife.

Wash- Dawn (outside temp 18deg, brutal...)
Dry- Absorber
Claybar- Meguiars clay with ultimate QD
Step 1- Menzerna PF P0203S, green pad. 4 passes at 5 on PC, 2 passes on 6
Step 2- Menzerna P085RD, black pad, 3 passes at 4 on PC
Seal- Jetseal 109, 2 coats 2 hours apart
LSP- not yet, Supernatural wax sometime this week.

The SUV looks great! Thanks to George at DI for his suggestions on product. This was my first detail with a power tool and I am sure the results are amateur, but I am floored by the outcome.

Power Finish is a great product indeed! My latest go-to combo is PF with the new Hydro Tech Tangerine pad (cuts almost as good as orange, but finishes almost as well as grey).

P0203S/P085RD is a sweet combination, and I think you will be happy with Jet Seal and Supernatural too.
