Misfire? Help me
I have a misfire on cylinder 1. I swapped coils with cylinder 2 and the misfire remained at cylinder 1. Then I swapped spark plugs with cylinder 2 and the misfire is still currently at cylinder 1.
No limp mode, although once in a blue moon I see a fuel pump plausibility code come up for my car. Very rarely though. The spark plug in cylinder 1 does not smell of fuel. If the fuel pumps (either one) were bad, would I have a consistent code for fuel pumps? Also, if I needed new Vanos solenoids or a cleaning, would this also throw a code? I have no code other than misfire which kinda leads me to believe it could need a walnut blast. Any opinions? Thank you! |

If its not your plugs or coils it could be your injector, if not I would just walnut blast, these cars build up a lot of carbon and it'll misfire. Im not sure about the fuel pump issue tho

Update on this thread. Moved coils, plugs, put in a new used injector (working one). Still got a misfire coming up but no CEL. I got to scan it again. Injector helped as my idle is smooth and less hiccups but still have a misfire appearing.

I moved injector on my misfire and the misfire moved (suspect your's will too, nothing to lose but some of your time). Not changing the tiny teflon seals has had no ill effects either.
Also, you don't have to walnut blast to effectively clean intake valves (done 2 335's with CRC intake cleaner left in chambers overnight and tooth brushes with shopvac). |
