Does anyone know how to remove this?

I am trying to remove the chrome piece on the ashtray lid before powder coating , has anyone removed this before and if so what was the best method.

For the front one? it won't powder coat as its plastic but the trime piece just pushes out from the back, if you unclip the lid you will see it

Mine wasn't easily removable. It was affixed by prongs melted over at the back. Had to glue it back on after wrapping my trims.

I tried to attach an image but didn't work, it's the aluminium trim so can be powder coated. I will take it apart later and see how I get on 👍🏼

Only the trim is being powder coated, I was just wondering how to remove the plastic strip, I am going to paint this piece separately. Thanks for the link though, looks fairly easy to remove it this way!
