Excellent, thank you for your help. Yes i understand that it is an old car and would be viewing it a such, but just needed to know any known faults with this model in particular so that i could look out for them.
Thanks again. |

I had a 325i 2006 E90 (2.5L engine) for about a year. I did about 25k motorway miles in it with no issues at all. Only problem was the car was using alot of oil, after a bit of research on the net, this can be a common problem with the 6 cyl engines but not all of them. Something to watch out for but i doubt that is something you can check on a test drive. Check the oil level via the computer once its warmed up and ask when was the last time the oil was topped up. This might give you a clue if its using up oil. I did think my oil level sensor was faulty initially, but after dropping the oil out of the car, the readout on the computer matched how much actual oil came out. Mine was using about 1 litre every 1000 miles which was quite excessive, but no symptoms of smoke or leaks.
EDIT: i did have 1 issue actually. the overflow pipe for the fuel tank was split, this is a common problem but can only be seen if you full tank the car, you will get some drops of fuel coming out until you go below the max fuel level. This was a pain to sort out! Unfortunately i didnt know about this until i bought the car.
