Hey Everyone,

I just replaced all my shocks on my car with Bilstein B4's. The fronts were failing, and the rears were going to be on the way out soon and replaced them as well. There is currently no shaking in the steering wheel.

I also replaced the front strut mounts along with all rubber stops in the font/rear.
I did not replace the lower rear shock mounts however, which I am thinking I should have.

So I went on the highway for the first time today and when I braked there is a slight pulsing sound coming from the rear of the car. The car does not shake and I don't feel anything in the steering wheel.

Also forgot to metion that I replaced pads and rotors just 4 months ago and they look fine.

So my questions are these:
1. Can this be caused by a failing lower rear strut mount? The one side was very rusty and stuck to the shock and had to use a screwdriver to separate them.
2. Is it maybe some contamination on the brake pads?
3. Is it possible its one of the rear control arms that is now failing and is more noticeable because the new shocks are stiffer?

Any other info is welcome.

What I think is most likely is there's a little bit of dirt between one if the rear hubs, and the rear disc. I'd take the rear discs off, and make sure they're clean, as well as the hubs.

I could be wrong, of course!

Forgot to reply here.

I ended up cleaning the rotor surfaces in the rear and the pads themselves and put it all back together. Problem went away. I also replaced the lower strut mounts.

I clean mine by braking hard at high speeds
