do you have bluetooth streaming? then you installed a combox. USB only has to be laid and connected.
However, if you only have one ULF, you have to replace it with a MULF2, for example. In this case you don't have bluetooth streaming |

I did this a couple days ago after my usb stopped working, I found a usb kit with all the cables on Amazon which worked great, ran from centre console under back seats to the combox and it connected on the second most left 4pin connector

You need a mulf 2 hi if you don't have a combox .
A combox has everything included but some functions may not be enabled . (programmed to active) |

Help with non-cic?
I have a 2011 328i with a combox. It does NOT have a CIC screen. The stereo head unit (red dot matrix display screen) shows input options for Tuner, Satellite, Aux, USB. When you plug an iPod into the USB in the arm rest the "USB" in option on the stereo changes to "iPod" and that plays just fine. My phone connects for handsfree calls just fine, steering wheel controls work fine. In the arm rest there is a combination aux-in/USB plug. As stated, the USB plug plays music via an iPod just fine. However nothing, nadda, zilch from the aux-in. I have Bimmercode and a Veepeak, but I can't find anything about which codes to set to either get the aux-in to work, or to stream BT music. I replaced the Combox with an identical, salvaged one from eBay, but it behaves identically (no aux, or BT streaming). Does anyone know the Bimmercode settings for a non-CIC car?

You can't get streaming from a combox without a idrive and the idrive
has to have a particular version of the Firmware. No streaming with a Pro Radio was the last thing I heard. |

If you look at the threads where people add the combox the software for the Head Unit often comes up . Since yours works you already have the right Hardware.
Features often have to be enabled in the software after hardware has been added. I would try the cable first . Usb should be shown as and option somewhere in your idrive menu's . If it appears and is grayed out or unselectable it means it needs to be enabled through software. Bluetooth phone is not the same as bluetooth music streaming. If you look at some of the combox install threads here it will give you some direction of what you have to do . |

No One has asked that before. I think the only way to find out is to look up Part No's for Harnesses and see if there the same. The e91 does have overhead speakers for
the Rear Speakers that has got to be a different wire harness at least it seem like it would be. |
