Hopefully ECS tuning can work something out for the Schwaben with foxwell for the same deal. I forget, what model does the Schwaben show up as in the updater tool?

I just learned this about the schwaben scan tool the other day.
It will allow you to switch from a non-AGM battery to a new battery, that is AGM, and register it as an AGM battery. |

Can anyone confirm this tool can activate a new FRM3 Footwell Module in an E90 M3? Mine has fried and I need to install a new one. The pdf seems to indicate it will activate an FRM2 but it could just be an old list.

Really! I wasn't trying to change my battery, but, in playing around with it I only saw register battery. Did I need to drill down further in that function to find the registration ability?

I was curious if you successfully did this? I have the tool and tried to switch from lead to AGM and it gives an error. It was happy to register the new battery but ignored my attempts to change type or AH with error messages after entering the supplier/polarity codes (which I made up since they were not on my new battery).

I just tried the Ah change and AGM change functions and it would not do it. This is with the latest software from Foxwell. |

Carly Pro BMW Android App ($58.99) + ($9.99) battery in-app purchase + ($14.50) K+DCAN cable + ($3) Monoprice OTG adapter = $86.50 versus $150 Schwaben when on sale. Last edited by Dapperson; 11-29-2017 at 02:03 AM.. |

Based on your analysis, I decided to buy Carly pro today. My immediate needs are battery and coding. ESC tuning had the schwaben for $149 with free shipping. Maybe in the future. Thanks for all the details on capabilities.

I have both. I always carry the Carly adapter in my car and it's convenient when travelling since the app is on your phone. For everything else, I use the Schwaben, plus I can use it on other cars such as my Honda, etc.

I got mine yesterday, I really like it and could have used it for a few things that the Carly Pro app can't do or see.
Here is a link to some more screen shots. https://flic.kr/s/aHsktBFTkJ Last edited by 9krpmrx8; 12-26-2017 at 04:35 PM.. |

Will the Foxwell tool clear permanent codes? I replaced my glow plugs and glow plug control module and now keep getting "lost communication with glow plug module", an EGR and intake error codes which would comprise the three things I unplugged to get to the control module.
I can clear the pending codes every time I get in the car with my OBDLink app but this is a serious PITA to do every time. I clear the codes and have taken several drives hoping the codes would just clear to no avail. Thanks in advance! |
