Where are the great driving roads?

Hi everyone, I am going to move to Chicago soon. Just wondering if there are some great driving roads to throw my cars around in the Greater Chicago area?

Thanks!

mihoyoshioka,

It kinda depends on which part of the greater Chicago area you're talking about. Up in the north suburbs (Evanston, Winnetka, Deerfield, etc.), there are a couple of nice stretches along Sheridan Road, which sports some fantastic homes, that are very nice. US 41 up north (and running south out of the city) is fun too. Also, any of the country roads in southern Wisconsin or northwest Indiana can be fun too, if you can stand the occassional tractor in the road. Good luck with your move and search and keep us apprised on any gems you find.

Driving north up to Northern IL's Blackhawk farms track days, or Central Wisconsin's Road America Track days or twin letter country roads in around the WI/IL border does the trick.

Unfortunately nothing to compare to LA's sweet nearby canyon roads though.

I've been here a few years and haven't found any backroad twisties like I used to find occasionally back home in Wisconsin.

Check out Lake Shore Drive and go onto Wacker if you're looking for a fun late night cruise though!
