Scootah's Finished Product

I’ve been lurking on the e90 site for around 6 months after buying my 2010 E92 335 DCT , I’ve had some mods done along the way , Proceed , Eibach Pro kit , M3 steering wheel , 19’ GTC wheels , Aerolip , some carbon bits , Lux etc ect

All of the parts have come from vendors on this site and installed by Southern BM or BMR, I can highly recommend both Andrew from Southern BM or Stuart from BMR for any performance upgrade you may have for your Bimmer – but then you guys are already know that.

So to my latest edition which was installed today , AR design down pipes , now this mod proved to be a little more challenging with AR changing their pipe design recently , however thanks to Andrew and Stuart the pipes were installed today with no issues. Also thanks to Advan who I understand performed the Mods to the pipe to ensure they fit correctly.

So if you want to install DP’s on your beast, I strongly advise you only buy from Southern BM or BMR , else you will have a world of pain installing them.

Anyway , thanks for the advice and knowledge you all have been unknowingly been passing on to me for the past 6 months

Finally , Pavo you crack me up and where’s Rossi gone , I miss reading his rants

Cheers Scootah

An alpine white 335 with some tasty mods mmmm where are the pics?!?!

So do you think the DP mod is worth it, are you happy with the change of engine/turbo acoustics?

Also what exactly did they have to modify (is this due to LHD to RHD application?)

Anything to help those little turbos spin!

As far as mods go , I guess it was the next engine mod to do having done the tune, is it worth it , well nothing IMO gives the bang for your buck that a tune does. I like the new exhaust note , has a bit of a crackle to it when driving it hard.

I'll let the experts explain exactly what was changed , but believe it was something to do with where o2 sensor mounts hitting steering column.

Stu from BMR can elaborate on my wild guess

Did you get a re-tune done after installing the DP's?

I'm guessing it would be easier to do the ECU mod JB4/Cobb etc CAI & DP's all at once but it would be nice to add each part 1st to feel the gains each mod makes on the car in terms of power and the acoustics.

Definitely good bang for buck with the downpipes.

Yes the front o2 sensor is repositioned to give more clearance on our RHD steering racks.

No need for a re-tune afterwards

Doing it all at once doesn't make a difference compared to doing it in stages... best to do it in stages in fact so you can indeed feel the differences being made.
Most N54 tunes only take 30mins to install, whether a piggyback or flash.

Ok , so now having had a longer drive after the installation , the increase in power isnt that noticable , esp when comapred to the difference in feel after having the tune installed. What is noticable is the improvement in turbo lag, as Pavo mentioned the turbo's spin up easier.

In regards to acoustics , with windows up id say there is no difference, windows down you can certainly hear the turbos spin up, but thats about all, which is what i was after.

you wanted Photo's , here is the "almost finished " product

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm planning to do the tune, AR DP's & maybe CAI mod or just panel filter so its good to know a local user has successfully used the AR downpipes. I must say in comparison to other turbo cars I have driven this car isn't laggy at all, but hey having them spool more efficiently has to be a good thing for power!

Wow that is a neat example of a 335i!!! Right click save as/C:Car Porn

What colour interior do you have (it almost looks like an individual white interior also?)

Thanks for the "car love"

interior is cream , would have prefered black , but the car had everything else that i wanted so had to compromise on the interior color
